We arrived at the hotel after a challenging day on the West highland way, When we arrived we were told we had to collect out bags from a outside shed and replace them there the next morning for the bag carrying service, surely the bags could have been placed in our room
we founf the menu was very limited , we settled on the steak pie which to be fair was very tasty
the rooms are a bit dated as is the bar area
the place as i say is ok but it could offer so much more

The food was acceptable and reasonably priced, staff were helpful and pleasant.

They provided much needed cash back when I paid my bill, not to many ATM's on the WHW.

Owners have recently changed, old reviews may be directed at previous staff and their efforts.

I enjoyed my night and thought food and drink were reasonably priced.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a 7Day WHW package, so I dont know how much I paid for it. But the previous day I stayed at a small B&B in Drymen so to walk into a large hotel with big rooms was kinda nice. I don't know where all the complaints are coming from as the room was very nicely set up, with coffee making facilities and TV. The only complain I have is that my bathroom was separate. I mean its private and exclusive for my use, but still separate. Not the most convenient thing after a long 23km walk.

I don't have any complains about the food and staff either- although I agree its a tad bit overpriced. But what I can say, its in the middle of nowhere.

Second night of The West Highland Way.
Very friendly welcome, large clean room with a huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall.
The only bad part about the room was that the air con unit for the kitchen was right outside my window. It was noisy until about 23:00 and came on again at 06:00.
Breakfast was large and you could get a cooked meal from 07:00, great as the next day was a 20 mile trek !
Evening meal was from the bar, it was OK, but nothing special, the choice was limited and it was a bit on the expensive side.

We were put up here by Wilderness Scotland who arranged our stays for our hike on the West Highland Way. They are stingy on towels; you will find this commonly as facilities try to keep laundry costs down (electricity is really pricey here). The windows were dirty. And no curtains or shades were on the windows. The light in the bathroom went off every 90 seconds or so; that was really annoying while we were showering. You had to wave your arm in a certain spot to get it turned on again. That a particularly irksome feature of our room. And hot and cold water came out of separate faucets at the sink. There is no wifi here despite any claim to the contrary. The food at the restaurant was rather nasty and service was quite slow. Reception was friendly and tried to be helpful. Be prepared to carry your bags up the steps if your room is on the second floor but try to stay elsewhere.

We stayed 4 nights in the Luxury Lodge, a bit disappointed. The Lodge was nice but I wouldn't say it was luxurious maybe in its day? We had problems no power and no Sky TV and most of the lamps were missing bulbs. The staff did come up and sorted out the power outage and got some channels working on TV but we was promised the manager would come see us the next day we never saw him.

It's very close for Ben Lomond so for that the location was great.

Visited for lunch, fantastic prawn cocktail, fresh tasty and good service. Nice main, cooked well was prompt and friendly staff. Great place and a total credit to the tourist trade. Cannot fault it, great service and very friendly, amiable staff.
