We stopped here last year and I have only just got a chance to write my review. We thought the food here was excellent (Scottish Mussels yum) and the drink was really good too. (2 great local real ales!) Great for families and of course as we are MacFarlanes loved the tartan and other interesting artifacts. Will be really interesting to see how the heritage centre turns out, we hope it matches the food and service!

I took my family here last week to celebrate my Mums birthday and I was not disappointed. We took advantage of the free pick up and drop off taxi service so that we could enjoy a drink with our meal.

The new owners and management have done a wonderful job as has the chef.

The menu had a wide variety and there were plenty of specials on the blackboard. The food was hot, tasty and fresh produce. The portions were plentiful and the chef sent out some extra veg and chips with our meal.

Although at this time of year business may not be booming, the restaurant still had a welcoming and homely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive.

I will definitely return here and would highly recommend for a drink, quicjk bite or an evening meal.

Called in at dusk, (1700 hrs), following walking around Arrochar/Tarbet area. Very pleased to find the bar open, and two local real ales (Fyne Ales, Cairndow) available on draught. Tried them both, and full marks for quality and value for money (£2.90/pint). Made to feel very welcome, and enjoyed good craich with "Director" and bar staff. On second visit later in the week, repeated the exercise, and even bought a couple of the bottled beers, which now adorne my bar at home. Would have tried food, but staying in Tarbet Hotel (inclusive Shearings holiday).
Good luck on your new venture.

My wife and I along with my sister popped in here just after 5pm on a weekday night on our way home from a trip to Oban. This was our second visit. The restaurant which is located in an old converted church which is also "The Clan McFarlane Heritage Centre" is warm and inviting and has plenty of seating on a raised floor or you can choose a table in the bar area which is where we sat as it looked inviting on this cold wet evening.
There is a good choice of starters, main meals and desserts along with daily "specials" chalked up on a blackboard in the bar area.
The food is nicely presented and appealing and each dish is of a good quantity.
The service is quick and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable as I found out when I enquired about the ingredients of a particular dish.
With 1 drink each, 3 starters, 3 main meals and coffees to finish the bill was just slightly over £41 and represents great value for money.
We'll certainly be back the next time we're in this area.
