“Average pub, horrible food”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

The title says it all, don't order food here as you're wasting your money; it is too "plasticy"

friendly Staff and good music

“Worst food ever, do yourself a favour and go to the chippy across the road. It's great!”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

We ordered 2 pizza & a chicken burger.
The food was hot but that is the only good thing going for it.
The pizza base was undercooked and it was covered in some kind of kid on plastic cheese. My husband couldn't eat more than half a slice and I only ate one bite. For nearly £10 I would have expected decent cheese and more toppings. I have had better pizza from Aldi for £0.99
The chicken burger looked fine but the chips were obviously from the previous day or cooked in very old oil.
We left with no tip and will never set foot in this dump again.
Where is Gordon Ramsey doing his kitchen nightmares these days anyway?

“Very Average”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

We needed a break on a long journey from the Hebrides to Northern england and this seemed to be the only place open at the point we needed to eat before continuing.

Its a basic sort of bar and is obviously enjoyed by locals, long distance walkers and the like. The bar and waiting staff were friendly, swift and helpful. The kitchen staff are not so swift. But the food! This is food as fuel and nothing else. I read other reviews here about how good the food is and I can only wonder about what these reviewers are used to.

This is not a good place to eat unless you are a fan of downmarket stodgy pub grub. We didn't finish our meals.

“Cheerful, noisy, big screen”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

Great for watching the rugby on the large screen. Warm and dry. Friendly enough but not the spot for quiet comtemplation or calm conversation. Food looked filling. The Gunness was kept well.
