“WEST HIGHLAND WAY TRIP”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

We really enjoyed our stay over at Glengarry House after a days walking. It was easy to find, well located in relation to Tyndrum and beautifully decorated throughout. We were greeted by friendly hosts and shown to our room, our bags were already in the room for us

The room itself was a family room, well equipped with a lovely view over the garden. There were lots of lovely touches here such as freshly baked flapjack on arrival and hand crafted gifts for sale. The breakfast was lovely and well presented. Really nice thank you

Stayed for one night on our West Highland Way walk. What comfort! Lovely room, looking out on the river and snowy-topped mountains. Greeted with coffee and flapjack, and our case already taken upstairs. We had arranged to eat in and had a choice from a small menu of home prepared food. It was delicious! The chocolate torte was so good that I asked Ellen for the recipe, which she kindly tucked into our case when it was being transported next day! (We had walked into Tyndrum village before checking in to top up on supplies at the famous Green Welly Stop, and had bought our own wine for dinner there.)

Ellen's good cooking continued with the truly excellent breakfast.

Glengarry house is about 10 minutes walk back from Tyndrum village, some of this on a narrow verge beside the road. This isn't pleasant when the road is busy, but don't let this put you off staying there (and there is no road noise in the room).

Thank you Ellen and Andy for a great stay.

We stay in the lodge for a week whilst doing the West Highland Way. It was great, very comfortable and well equipped and the bath was very welcome after a days walking. We took a friend to drive for us and it worked very well, tho' we took a ferry to Rowardennan from Tarbet to save some driving on day 3 (?). A warm welcome from Ellen & Andy. Many thanks.

Stayed for just one night while walking the West Highland Way and it was without a doubt the best stay on the route. The hosts were very friendly and everything was just as it should be. I chose to have dinner there (by recommendation) and it was no mistake as the food was just great, the best I had while walking The Way.
I had forgotten an adapter for a charger at Glengarry and my hosts were SO kind as to send it by parcel to my next location en route! Big thanks!
I would recommend this to everyone staying in Tyndrum.
