“Great resting place after a fantastic ride up”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

We arrived here on motorcycles and were looked after from the moment we got there with the owner allowing us to out the bikes in his garage overnight. The local brewery provide the ale and some spirits and the foxy blonde at the bar was great (that's a beer!). The meal we had in the bistro was faultless, they are proud if the fact all produce is sourced locally and rightly so it was superb. Great wine available too. Breakfast was just as good and set us up for the day.

The room was clean and very comfortable, we enjoyed a great nights sleep. The service was excellent and all staff very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would defo recommend this place.

Thank Garyjack

“Fantastic venison & steak”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We had dinner in the bar so that our dog could join us (true dog-friendly pubs are hard to find!) The venison was tender and succulent, the steak was cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were perfect. We had an indulgent dessert of brownie cheesecake sundae - rich and tasty. The service was outstanding, even in a busy bar the staff were attentive and friendly (and made sure our dog had water). We spent a whole evening enjoying the food, gin and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Went for a meal with my family. The food was delicious. Ordered nachos and "the don" burger.
Nachos were tasty and even ordering one plate- we had enough to share for 3 people!
The don burger- you really really have to like hot food for this. Coming from an Indian background, nothing prepared me for this at all. It is one hell of a burger! Good portion and huge. I loved it but it was really spicy- I was warned by the staff :)! I would say cut down on the jalapeno- there were too much. I removed them yet, lets put it this way.. I didn't have a pleasant next day!
The atmosphere is great, very homely feeling. Food arrived swiftly. The tables were presented nicely with nice cloth napkins.. The building looks great from the outside, plenty parking spaces.
Very good service!

“Lovely surprise”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

We were driving from Aberdeen to Corbridge, when hunger overtook us. Although it was late for lunch (at least 15:00), the kitchen at the Buccleuch Arms was able to provide us with marvelous steak sandwiches and chips. It was a warm, hearty meal that lasted us the rest of the day. Our table had a view to the green across the road.
