“Jen is an assett”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Beautifully located and presented. The apartment was a pleasure for us to reside in during a stay in southern Scotland. Geoff emailed good directions to the location and Jen was so nice and understanding especially as our flight was delayed.

“Quiet, peaceful first class stay!”
Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were looking at self catering around Dollar and 9 The Mansion House popped up.
It looked like it was ideal for our needs for myself, my wife and my father in law.

It turned out to be just that.

It is in a very beautiful setting surrounded by mature gardens.
It is really quiet and peaceful, ideal after a long days driving and sightseeing!

It is very well furnished and also has a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, free-view tv, music, videos.

My father in laws bedroom had the en-suite, our bedroom was next to the bathroom/toilet.
The showers were really nice and powerful.

We did bring our own food with us but mainly ate out locally.

Jen (the housekeeper) met us on arrival as planned and explained how everything worked. There was nobody else due to stay on our last day so Jen said that there was no rush to leave and if we needed a little extra time then that would be fine. As it happens we left pretty early anyhow on to our next destination (Arbroath).

Its a nice walk around the grounds and we even saw a red squirrel :-)

I think there were other people staying in the mansion (castle) but we never saw them and they never bothered us.

There is plenty of parking space available. There is a circular drive to the front door which makes it easier to load/unload your car before parking in the large car park at the side.

Our deposit was paid back pretty soon after our stay all OK.
We did have a good tidy up before we left and always like to leave a place as we would expect to find it, although we didn't really make that much mess during our stay anyway.

We were happy with the price as well.
Comparable to B&B prices but bigger and better, it was a no brainer.

Likes: Everything!

Dislikes: Nothing (well maybe the floor boards by front door creak a bit!)

Will definitely like to stay here again if up this way.

“An oasis of calm in the central Scottish countryside”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

While it is a little tricky to actually find your way to the "big house" that contains this apartment and 9 others, I can think of no other negative thing to say about our experience here. We are ex-pats with family in the area, and this apartment gave us a great central base to relax, have people over for a cuppa (instead of touring everywhere), and just drink in the countryside. The place is furnished in a modern vein, with top of the line fixtures and fittings. Both bedrooms are a good size, and the living room / dining room was great to do some simple entertaining. The grounds are expansive, and worth exploring. My one other niggle is that the internet up there was pretty weak, both the connection and the WiFi, but hard to fault the owners on this as big remote stone houses will always fall into that category. I'd like to thank Jen the manager for welcoming us and dropping round to make sure everything was great.

“beware - deposit!”

The apartment is nice and had everything we expected. Aside from when we arrived and there was only 2 towels for 4 people staying. These towels were also old and rough. After a few text messages, we did get extra towels. However, after staying I was informed I would not get my whole deposit back as the apartment was left in a mess and there was fake tan on 1 towel. I am extremely offended Iour group has been accused of leaving a mess- all dishes were cleaned, dishwasher put on, no rubbish left lying around, recycling put out, worktops and dining table wiped....not sure what eles was expected?! Perhaps if staying here you might want to wash all the bedding and towels, and Hoover before leaving?! Who knows! I find it hard to believe wash off fake tan didn't come out the towel, but even so £30 to replace an old rough towel? I don't think so! Shame spoilt a nice weekend. I would therefore not recommend this apartment,.

Management Response
2 Aug 2015
This has been a rare and unfortunate set of circumstances which we will be working hard to avoid in the future. Damage deposit retention is only considered in exceptional circumstances. In this case we thought the matter had been concluded amicably with you as you disagreed with us and no retention was therefore claimed. Our guests have normally enjoyed the apartment and services provided and we will be doing everything to ensure that our high standards are maintained in the future.

“Scottish baronial house, marvellous!”
Reviewed 9 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Just right for us. Visiting family for weekend. The apartment is on the ground floor, very spacious with easy access that allowed an elderly relative to visit without step hazards! Very well furnished, comfortable beds and pillows - a must have for us!
Greeted by Jen (manages servicing) who helped us settle in. Overall a great find and may well use again when visiting my home area.

Most wonderful place to stay
( The Mansions is set in beautiful grounds with plenty of lovely areas to walk.
The Apartment itself was just breath taking it is full of all the amenities you could wish for
Cooker, Dish washer , washing machine , toaster , radio, TV ,WI FI and wonderful comfortable beds.
On our arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady called Jen she explained every thing we needed to know about the accommodation and made us feel at home also she told us the best places to visit .
For anyone visiting Scotland 9 The Mansions is fantastic you could not pick a better place to stay it was so convenient to visit all the main Towns , City's and main attractions .
Our thanks to
Geoff, Marie and Jen for making our stay so enjoyable
