“July 2013”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Stayed here for 4 nights in July 2013, and it was beautiful. Of course the weather helped, it was hot and sunny with clear blue sky for our whole stay, which meant we were outdoors for breakfast and dinner, bathed in sunshine, and all hours in between. We had a small top floor room with lovely views over the picturesque harbour. The room was quite small but this wasn't a problem, it was nice and clean and nicely furnished, and I would happily stay there again for the view. Staff were all lovely all of the time, and happy for use to have breakfast outside, which we did every day. Portpatrick is a lovely place with lots of things to do and see within a fairly short drive, as well as picturesque walks around the town and harbour and coastal paths. I've travelled all over and this place has given me as fond a memory as I have of anywhere else that I have stayed.

Room Tip: They're small, but the little attic en-suite rooms are perfect for two with lovely views out ove...

i have enjoyed an evening meal at this restaurant and would have said it was one of the best in the town. for this reason i returned to enjoy lunch sitting outside and i was really disappointed.
the staff were abrupt. my toastie was full of tasteless cheese and a little burnt. its such a shame.

Spent an overnight here with froends from New Zealand last week and hotel was great. The seaview from the room was so lovely and the staff, especially Anne where great. She was exceptional in meeting all our needs first class service and will definatley be back.

Rooms where lovely - bathroom very small but still a great place.

We tried the Waterfront for the first time this week on a Monday lunchtime. It was busy, we sat outside and had a superb, if a little pricey. On the strength of that we went back for an early evening meal a couple of days later. Having been ignored for some time by the staff, we eventually got their attention to order to be told they do not serve meals until 6pm, despite their website and outside boards stating meals served from 12:30pm to 9:30pm every day. The staff could not have been less interested, no offer of taking our order for when they did start serving again, or asking to take our drinks order. For the prices we were expected to pay for a meal (£14:95 for cod and chips) we expected much better attitude and service from the staff. On the strength of that we left and went elsewhere. Such a shame the staff and misleading advertising let this place down. I would think twice about coming here again.

Great views.

My wife and I found this to be serene with a beautiful ambience.

Staff friendly and efficient and helpful.

The town has a very good choice for dining out. So far, we have nothing but praise.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The hotel was very nice and clean. They had sort of messed up the date for our arrival, but quickly sorted it out and got us all checked in. The staff was not unfriendly, but were not as friendly as the other places we stayed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people visiting Portpatrick.

stayed for 2 nights while walking the Southern Upland Way, although the rooms are a bit on the small side there was a good powerful shower in the small toilet, everything was spotless.
the food was excellent, well presented and served by friendly staff, the prices were very reasonable and a good choice of wines on the list. we had a sea view room on the top floor at the front of the hotel.
