Just arrived home after A fantastic midweek break in this amazing place. We were made very welcome from the start, even though We just sat outside with a pint before booking in.
Tony was our first contact and made us feel at home from the start. The rooms are kinda cottagey and are full of little quirks like the horredous howl from one of the taps in the bathroom (no wonder people think this place is haunted he..he.)
It is like staying with Friends rather than being in a hotel So if you are the type of person who likes everyone to be subservant whilst you are being very rude then please don't stay here as it ruins the atmosphere for the rest of us normal human beings.
We sat next to a woman who had a face like thunder in the Dining room who was determined to NOT enjoy her self at all cost.
She ordered the ribeye steak and then made the waiter stand there whilst commenting at every mouthful saying "That bit was alright ....this bit is fatty etc. The waiter (Garry) was to polite to inform this Grand Lady (term used loosley) that is what a ribeye is all about!!! ..... If you read this you know who you are! For Gods sake, get a life woman.
The staff are brilliant every last one of them and if you address them with some respect and don't expect them to doff there cap at you every 2 minutes you will find this to be a magical place (One of the staff and her Husband even came out for a drink with us (on our invitation)
Our room overloked the sea and also the outside bar area. I thought that it would be noisey at night but, such is the tranquil nature of this place all those outside seemed to whisper so as not to upset the peace of the place.
The food is superb The bad comments by some people on here are made by compulsive whingers and should be treated with the contempt they deserve!
I decided to do a little fishing in the Bay and the Chef told me of the best spot and even provided me with some bait!
I would like to thank the following people for allowing us to share there little piece of Heaven: Tony (der management) Joyce, Gary, Jane, The 2 best chefs in Scotland, and all the rest of the staff who work in the background.
