If there is a better Guest house to stay in Stranraer I would be surprised, The owners Lynn and Kenny were friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent and served at the time requested. I would have no hesitation in returning there if I were in the area and strongly recommend it.

This is a great place to stay in Stranraer. The room was very nicely presented. The bathroom, whilst small had a very nice shower. The bed was very comfortable. The room was spotless and very cosy.

Breakfast was EXCELLENT!!! Very filling.

The owner, Lynn, was very welcoming and helpful.

Happily recommended a stay in this B&B.

Stayed here for 1 night in December on a pre Christmas trip visiting friends.Made very welcome by Lynn and her husband. Rooms were very clean and tidy with excellent facilties. I have stayed in some 4* brand name hotels which weren't to this standard. Good quality Scottish breakfast made fresh at a time to suit guests. Owners very helpful with advice on area, and couldn't do enough for us. If back in stranraer would definitely stay here.

This was our best stay on our trek throughout Europe. The places in the UK were easily the best and Kenny and Lynn (the owners) sure know how to put on a quality establishment. Google maps sent us the wrong way and I called them up and they stayed on the phone with me and even waved me down on the street to assist in finding their place. Showed us to our room and answered every question we had for them (about the ferry, Kenny works for the ferry, where to leave our rental car, a place to find dinner, and just about anything else). They showed us to our room and left us alone, but were happy to answer any other questions we had for them if we needed (and we eventually did). The morning was wonderful as Lynn cooked a good breakfast for us (perfect size, as others in the UK had been huge). As we were leaving we chatted with them for a few minutes about our travels and theirs, they are just some of the nicest people you could meet and I would highly recommend a stay at the Fernlea Guest House!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad choice, but I would guess further from the the street would be quie...

Myself and a friend spent 3 nights here, we were met with a warm welcome and shown to our room which was very clean and well presented, throughout our stay our room was cleaned daily, and the owners were more than happy to give us directions for local shops and restaurants. Lovely friendly place and would recommend this guest house to anyone!

Our 2nd time at Fernlea and Lynn remembered us even after 4 years! warm and friendly as always, made us feel really welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Room lovely, warm and clean.
Great Place to stay for a few days or a stop off for the ferry crossing. Town close enough to walk into.
We will definitely be making another trip there. Breakfast fantastic. Can't recommend enough

Four of us stopped a night here before boarding the ferry to Ireland. Two had travelled from Scotland and the other two from Lancashire. Lynn and Kenny made us feel very welcome, giving us ideas for where to get a good evening meal in the town. We had lovely large, well decorated rooms and the breakfast was excellent. Great attention to detail with fresh fruit of all kinds and really whatever combination of the cooked breakfast you wanted.
It was so good that on our return from Eire we stayed another night rather than dash the long way back home. Highly recommended.
