We stayed one night in the three star Old Library Lodge and had a very enjoyable stay.
The location is excellent, right on the seafront with superb views over to the islands.
Room was comfortable and clean, with an en-suite shower room, large double bed and tea/coffee facilities.
Dinner was extremely enjoyable, of a far higher standard than one would normally expect to receive in a three star hotel.
And the service throughout was very friendly and efficient.
Well worth a visit if you are in this stunning part of the country.

Spent three nights at The Old Library Lodge. We were in the annexe at the back of the restaurant.
Large bedroom with bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Fabulous breakfast, especially the full Scottish breakfast, with black pudding and haggis. Staff very attentive and helpful. Good location, not far from Mallaig, where you can get the ferry to the Isle of Skye.

Recently heard it had changed hands again and was well recommended.

Certainly an excellent location overlooking Arisaig bay and Marina, met the chef who was knowledgeable and in tune with seasonal cooking and had very friendly local staff.

Menu was lovely and produced simple, well prepared and interesting dishes in a very convivial full restaurant.

Certainly one of the best restaurants within the area and well worth the visit.

Congratulations to chef and staff.

Great location, service, food and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in The Library from start to finish off with coffees outside. Nice people who care about your needs. Would certainly use it again when next in the area.

Four of us stayed for one night here on our way to Skye. We were in rooms 5 and 6 - both of which had fabulous views overlooking the water and both rooms also had very comfortable beds.
We ate dinner in the restaurant - the choice on the menu was not enormous and we thought it was slightly more expensive than we had expected. However, the food itself was extremely good.
Three of us had local asparagus with hollandaise sauce, poached egg & parmesan shavings for a starter & the other one had the soup of the day - all very tasty.
For main course, 2 of us had Moroccan spiced vegetable filo parcels while the other 2 had the Catch of the Day - on that particular day it was Dover sole, which we had seen being delivered just 90 minutes or so before dinner & these were enormous! Both the fish and the filo parcels were really delicious.
Having had a very good night's sleep, 2 of our party had local Mallaig kippers for breakfast which they said were superb - they certainly looked to be very fat fish and nothing like the kippers I remember from my childhood!
Would we stay at The Old Library again? Most definitely and I would especially ask to be in Room 5 or 6 as I think they are probably the best rooms available.
Would we eat at The Old Library again? Most definitely.

Room Tip: Rooms 5 or 6 for great views and comfortable beds

After being unable to take the ferry from Mallaig to Skye, four middle aged bikers decided to find somewhere to get some lunch and this is the place we found. It looked pretty good and we figured we'd give it a go. Wow! This place has a chef who knows how to present some food! We were not only impressed with the presentation, but the fish which is freshly caught locally, tasted amazing! The pints of prawns are huge too! If you're in the area, do yourself a favour and eat here. You'll not be disappointed!!

This gave us a great cup of tea, wonderful carrot cake with ice cream . It's not the cheapest but does have a great view, not many windows though. Good staff.others were enjoying lovely lunches, said it was great food.
Arisaig has great walks, beautiful outlook, pity about the midges but they weren't bad!
