“superb stay”
Reviewed 24 June 2012

We stayed here for three nights in the family room (Ben Tee). When we booked there were no double rooms available but they gave us the family room instead when they could easily have told us there was no room and instead let the room to a family.
It’s a lovely spacious room on the side of the hotel so you are not overlooking the main road. It is set over the bar/restaurant area so depending on how much fresh air and outdoor walks you’ve had you might have trouble getting off to sleep if you’re a light sleeper. As we’d been out walking and trekking up and down the Fort William downhill course we were generally out for the count as soon as we went to bed!
The bed is large and extremely comfortable, and the bathroom has the best power shower I’ve come across in a hotel room! Just perfect for those tired aching muscles.
We had the dinner, bed and breakfast package as we did not want the hassle of driving round looking for places to eat and we were very pleased we did this. The food was very good, well presented and super portions! We were a bit surprised that the specials menu did not change even though they sold out of one of the dishes the previous day but there is enough on the menu to choose from regardless and we had no troubles in choosing dinner each night. They also have a good selection of whisky!
Breakfast you can choose from a cooked Scottish breakfast or other cooked selections or you can have cereal, all with tea, coffee and toast. We had the cooked breakfast which set us up superbly for the day ahead.
It was a really lovely stay here, and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: the family room (Ben Tee) is on the side of the hotel, most of the other rooms are along the front o...

I came across this lovely hotel by accident, and was absolutely delighted that I found it! A beautiful building with lots of character. Excellent food and a very well-stocked bar. Had an excellent run along the river in front of the hotel - although you've got to watch your footing! Highly recommend this hotel.

A warm and forthcoming welcome. The rooms are on 1.st and 2.nd floor, and two of rooms were very spacious with a lovely bath which is great when you come as a walker. The room on the 2.nd floor were somewhat smaller with sloping walls. It was cosy but a bit aquard to go round the wall because of the walls. The reason why the hotel still gets 4/5 is because the rest of the experience. There was also a good and spacious lounge with wi-fi.
The hotel had a bar and had very good food. And the breakfast was absolutely excellent.
I had ordered the rooms beforehand without seeing the place, and got a very good and personal service over the phone.

We ate here only and did not stay at the hotel. Whilst ok the food is nothing special and we felt overpriced especially for the smallish portions. We like to be fair where possible but couldnt really recommend this as a result.

Just passing through on a motorbike tour, stayed for one night, lovely hotel full of character, it has been full modernised with lovely comfortable rooms - although we did not have a wardrobe or any hanging space, or a fridge! Restaurant was very nice, food was great, although the head waitress could have done with calming and quietening down a little. We did feel as if we were rushed and she did belittle another member of staff when behind the bar. (Not a good impression). Good breakfast, fire lit, excellent waitress service from a girl from Australia. Thank you. When we left, we turned right out of the hotel, travelled a mile or so and WOW what a view, it was immense, true highland scenery!!!

Room Tip: Higher floors will be smaller

Stopping over for one night at the Invergarry Hotel my wife and I will remember the stay for a very long time because of the delightfull river walks right in front of the hotel. The weather was glorious and these walks either down stream to Loch Oich or upstream to the forrest are a complete treat. The hotel is very clean and well upgraded to modern standards, our room apleasure to stay in and would had been great for a longer stay.
Dinner at the bar/bistro/restaurant was very good with great staff and a good chef, the high standard being kept up for breakfast.Well done the Invergarry and thankyou.
