The hotel accommodation is fine. Breakfast in the restaurant is fine. General location within Memphis is fine. Only stayed for one night as part of a tour and found most aspects of the hotel to be suitable for a one night stay.

However, I would question the security within this hotel. My wife was mugged and robbed within the ladies toilet next to the lobby bar. There appears to be no security as it appears the woman mugger just walked into the hotel. The attacker was chased but drove off in a car waiting outside. Local Police attended. Hotel Management in the form of the Chief Engineer took details but the General Manager refused to provide a copy of his report. Why?

Agree that this maybe an isolated case but!

Room Tip: Watch the usage of public toilets within the hotel

Then hotel i decent enough ,nice large bedroom, clean bed linen and nice toiletries ,the problem we found it was just a little out of town(there is a free shuttle service ) and only a twenty minute work into the main city which is fine, breakfast was expensive as not included and was not up to the standard of the free breakfasts at other hotels ,it was ok but not great for what we paid, and being out of town there was nowhere close to go and buy breakfast ,though we was told there was a subway ,but we couldn't find it and it meant crossing the highway.
for one or two nights it's ok ,oh and the bar man was non to friendly but that could be we asked him to wash the measure as he used it for a whiskey and we want gin(small point)

Room Tip: As breakfast is over priced a good tip find a grocer and buy some milk and individual cereal in sealed bowl(like a pot noodle)

This was my first visit to this hotel. Due to a concert in town, all hotels were very busy and many had no rooms left. We arrived at dinnertime. Check in was fast and somewhat comical due to a lady was having a cussing fit due to either her or whom ever made her reservation did not read the room description and wanted to blame everyone but herself for not having the correct room. The gentleman dealing with her may have been the manager and did a great job at handling her. I would not have been as patient. We made it to our room and you can tell that this place is a bit dated. The hallways have low ceilings but upon entering our room, it was cool and smelled fresh. There were some minor things that I noticed such as, the tv picture would not come on the first time the tv was turned on. Once turned off and back on it worked fine. I could tell the walls in the restroom are not wiped down regularly. There was a chip out of the tub as well. Most of those things come with the age of the place though. The AC unit would probably be loud for some but I enjoyed it as it provided some white noise to sleep with and did drown out neighborly sounds. The bed was comfortable but I did think it was strange that it was a king bed with 4 standard pillows. They looked so small on the bed. The outlets on the lamp were very loose feeling when plugging something in. In fact my phone never charged so make sure everything is working when you plug it in.
I did utilize two amenities at the hotel. Due to my later than planned arrival, we chose to eat at the restaurant on premises. We were the only customers at the time and I felt a bit nervous about what we were about to get to eat but all in all the food was really good. Crab cakes and St Louis style ribs. The ribs had a really good flavor and were not too dry. We also utilized the shuttle to downtown. The driver was pleasant and the vehicle was nice. He made sure that we all had his number to contact for pickup but we decided to stay out a bit later than the times that the shuttle ran. Even though the shuttle was free, a nice tip was in order. FYI a taxi from the hotel to downtown runs 10.00. All in all the stay was not bad at all. All staff here were very helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms face the city. Odd number face the interstate.

My wife and I were on our 10th anniversary, and we stayed at the crown plaza for four nights. we got good advise and helpful hints on where to go for food and intertainment from gena who works in the resturant and reginal who was the shuttle driver. we spent a little more to stay at a nice enough hotel to offer a shuttle service and that alone was a extra bonus to be able to relax and know that all you have to do is call and you can be picked up after going out fo the evening.

We arrived before check in time but the girl on the desk was very accommodating and stored our bags.I asked for a room away from the interstate and when we got back later my request was fullfild. The room was of good size and was clean, and access to Beale street was great by using the trolley..Managers reception was a nice touch and we were pleased with this hotel
