This hotel was in or near a suspect neighborhood. It was partially surrounded by a dilapidated chain link fence with barbed wire on top. People were coming and going until very late at night. The sounds of car horns, shouting, and doors slamming kept me awake until after 2 am. Overall there wasn't a feeling of being safe and comfortable. I felt the need to lock the deadbolt and the swing latch, then check to make sure the window was locked. The room itself smelled bad. the walls were dirty. There were broken handles on the dressers. The light in the bathroom flickered for a long time when first turned on. The young man who checked us in was pleasant but in the morning the older gentleman at the desk seemed un-interested in dealing with me. I didn't complain, he seemed a bit grumpy, I just asked for a receipt and said thanks. I don't think he said a single word. He definitely didn't thank me for staying or even ask how my stay was. The room was cheap enough so the fact that the breakfast was mediocre seemed appropriate. We had to ask them to make coffee though, which I found a bit strange. Coffee. Don't you just automatically keep the coffee full? I would recommend travelers avoid this hotel. A nice clean room, in a secure hotel with decent breakfast is worth paying an extra 30 bucks in my opinion.
