“So Haunting”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Very well presented story of the fight for equality during some of most shameful events ins America's history. It takes a while to see all of this so, be prepared to stay for several hours to take it all in. Both MLK's room, and the boarding house room where James Earl Ray fired is open for viewing. Seeing the video and pictures displayed here is just overwhelming. Witnessing the hatred some people had is hard to comprehend, yet the struggle that was fought is so inspiring.

“Interesting”

Powerful experience to see the Lorraine Motel, see MLK's room, and see the boarding house room from where the shot was fired. The museum fully documents the Civil Rights movement, but there is A LOT of reading, with not as many artifacts as would have been nice. The best part is seeing MLK's room and I found being in the boarding house where the shot was fired from to be very chilling, You literally are looking out of the window the shooter looked out of. Very moving. Takes about 2 hours to take it all in. Glad to have seen it.

“Tearfull”

Going in watch a short film. The film sets the tone for the entire visit. Be prepared to be shocked and surprised. There are some parts of our history we should really be ashamed of. For people to be treated the way they where is really shocking.
Knowing about our history is one thing - experiencing and sen it first hand is a whole different thing. A must see for any student !!!

The museum tour takes about two hours. There is a large variety of information with details including a full size bus, car, and lunch counter. There is also a nice gift shop.
