“Small, interesting museum”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Started the Tour with a documentary about rock and soul.
Walked though the exhibition without listening to every piece of information as our time was limited.
The museum is small, but very interesting with a lot of memorabilia.

“What a history”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

The development of music, especially that from Memphis has always fascinated me. This was a wonderful journey that made me understand the cross over of country and blues....development of Stax and Hi records - Isaac Hayes....Al Green...Ike Turner and so many more....not to mention Elvis....a MUST SEE!

“Small but Good”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

There was a good short film on the history of Rock and Soul. The exhibits were good and we were given audio devices for the tour. We had a packed schedule for the day and wished that we had the time to listen to all of the exhibits.

“I loved it!”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

When you first go in, you listen to a video about some of the history and the culture of the area. Then you get a pair of headphones and they send you on your way. You can go as fast or as slow as you want. I spent a couple of hours there and could have spent more. They have literally hundreds of songs you can listen to by pressing their number in and several rooms to go through and learn about the history of music in the area - from the slavery days until modern era.

It did take around 20 minutes for us to start because another group was watching the video so we had to wait until they were done and out of the area. It wasn't packed with people when I went (thankfully). Be careful if you wear necklaces or a camera around your neck. I had both on and they got tangled with the wires from the headphones so it took a couple of minutes to untangle.
