As we were traveling across the country, we decided to refer to Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives for guidance to some BBQ in Memphis. When you're in Memphis, you eat BBQ, right? So we stopped in to Tom's and we are so glad we did! If you didn't know to look for it, you may not stop. The area of town we were in was very industrial and, to be honest, kind of scary to us out-of-towners. It was late in the evening and close to closing time but they all welcomed us right in. They were very patient with us and explained the menu. The menu is LARGE. We took their advice and got brisket and ribs and our little girl got the last spaghetti they had. The BBQ was delicious! It had a unique flavor that reminded me of Greek food. They even threw a little extra side meat in with our order. I could have eaten a gallon of the sauce. The homemade fresh lemonade was so good and the sides were awesome too. But the big surprise was the spaghetti...oh my goodness...the SPAGHETTI. Get the great BBQ but the spaghetti is a MUST try. We liked the funky, relaxed atmosphere too. The only negative for our entire experience is the bathroom. There is one for the entire place but it's so tiny you can't turn around in there and therefore very easy to bump your head. (Sorry, Tom's!)
