My family and I went to my brother's wedding in Memphis Tennessee and stayed at the Hampton Inn on Peabody Place downtown Memphis, Tennessee. It was a very nice hotel with very nice, friendly and helpful staff. We truly enjoyed our stay. It was very convienietly located with great amenities. The best part was that the staff was super friendly with great southern hospitality with warm and friendly smiles willing to accommodate you in any way you wish.

Room Tip: Always request a room with a balcony. It is first come first serve but if one becomes available duri...

My Mum and I stayed here for 4 nights in August during Elvis Week. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to many attractions and the trolley line. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to see a smiling face every time the lift doors opened in the lobby. Our room was a decent size and clean. We could hear the music from Beale St but it didn't stop us from sleeping, it just added to the atmosphere of being in Memphis. The internet access was fast and we felt safe with the secure access building. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and Mum enjoyed the coffee in the lobby that was available day and night. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2012. We had a bedroom suite with kitchen and balcony. Room was nice and spacious but we ended up to paying over 900 usd for three nights. I think that was a little too much.
On site parking is 17 usd per night, breakfast was just ok and included in the room rate.
Would stay again if could get a little cheaper price.

The location is great. The hotel is super clean. The breakfast is wonderful. We stayed there for 3 nights recently and it was a fantastic stay. Sure, it was a little noisy between 12pm and 12am out on the street but you are in a city! After midnight though you can't hear much at all outside. Originally we were booked into another hotel a few blocks away but after reading reviews on here, we decided to switch. (Great reviews for the Hampton, not so great for the other place.) We are so glad we did! I would definitely recommend this hotel to almost anyone.
The one comment I would make (and I already made this to the front desk) is that along with the sign at the front desk about the possibility of street noise, they put out a sign asking guests to be quiet in the hallways between midnight and 9 am. Our problem with noise was the drunk bachelorette party who was staying on the same floor with us. They were incredibly noisy as they were leaving and coming back (and we were between the elevator and their room.) But that isn't the hotel's fault.

My husband and I traveled to Memphis August 15 - 19, and decided to stay at the Hampton Inn, based on all the great reviews. The hotel did not disappoint. The location was a block from Beale and was close to the free shuttle to Graceland, Sun Studio and Main Street. We stayed in a suite, which was great, because it had the living room/kitchen, along with the separate bedroom area.

Breakfast in the morning was great. There are enough selections that everyone should be able to find something to eat that they like. There was also coffee and tea available in the lobby anytime, day or night, plus a little store, where you can purchase drinks, snacks, etc. Although, like any hotel, they are pricey, but you pay for convenience.

The rooms are very clean and are cleaned promptly. We have experienced terrible maid service at other hotels, but this was top notch. One of my biggest complaints, is you typically are not provided with enough towels. This was not the case at the Hampton Inn.

We did not use the pool or jacuzzi, so I can't speak to this, but it looked nice. It is a bit small. I did use the gym, which is also a bit small, but has adequate equipment.

The staff were very accommodating. If we needed directions, suggestions on where to eat, or assistance in scheduling a taxi, they were very quick to assist, and always did it professionally.

In numerous reviews, I did read that the noise from downtown is loud in the evening. This is true. The music starts mid-afternoon and goes until the early morning, so if you're a light sleeper, this is probably not the place for you. My husband and I actually took a sleeping aid every night, so we could fall asleep. The hotel itself was very quiet. We did not experience noise in the hallways or adjoining rooms at any time during our stay.

In the future, if we decide to return to Memphis, we will definitely be staying at the Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: Stay on the opposite side of the hotel, away from Beale Street, to avoid the noise from downtown.

We went to Memphis with the intention of going to Graceland, not realizing how cool Beale Street was. I'm so glad I chose this hotel. It was so nice. The people there were great. You felt safe. It was clean and as everyone has said..it is so close to everything and Beale St around the corner...great restaurants and great music. One thing also is that the famous, historic Peabody Hotel is right down the street where the Peabody ducks come down from their penthouse in the elevator and march down the red carpet to the fountain at the end...so cute...and tons of people go tosee this...at 11:00am and 5:00pm..get there early!! There is a 17.00 including tax parking fee at the Hampton but so worth it.... We'd stay there again.
