I visited Memphis recently and stayed at the Madison. The Madison is not far from the Mississippi River and a couple of extra blocks from Beale Street, but the walk is not a problem. It is also right near the trolley, although I didn't try it. I was just coming off an exhausting trip and was grateful for the gracious greeting I received upon arriving. My room was on the small side, but well appointed and very clean. I had a nice lunch at the hotel restaurant, Eighty3. I didn't try it, but the bar looks like it would be a great place for a drink in the late afternoon or evening. I also had in-room breakfast, and it was beautifully prepared and delicious. The staff was very warm. I would definitely stay here again.
