This was my first trip to this longtime Memphis landmark. I was appalled at how rundown the place looked in the public areas, made you wonder about the kitchen. The water stains on the ceiling and carpet in addition to ancient decorations were a turnoff. I'm a nostalgia nut, but dirt is dirt. We had a fantastic waiter with lots of personality. I took his advice and ordered a steak. Unfortunately, it was overcooked but replaced. Their pizza was fantastic and the salad was delicious. I'll go back, but it won't be top on my list until it gets cleaned up.
