Classic! Old fashioned southern, country menu with home made biscuits and corn bread. You can't miss the yellow building with blue awnings on Poplar. The parking lot is crowded, but don't get frustrated as there is more parking behind/on the side of the building. The decor is cottage-y with bright colors, chair rails and art and memorabilia adorning the walls. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Come prepared to leave diets and tofu options behind. The breakfast options are large and served throughout the day. Portions are fairly large and most entrees come with 2 sides. The veggies are prepared cooked through, the southern way where the vegetables are soft. I asked for the vegetable of the day, the response: baked potato. That should give you a pretty good idea of the menu!! Country fried steak and the Turkey and dressing meals were great and around $10 for lunch. The sweet tea was stocked with ice and very refreshing. Refills were provided without asking. We came in for an early lunch and it was busy until we left. Great experience - definitely recommend the Blue Plate Cafe!
