The Westin Memphis Beale Street
Ranked #28 of 138 Hotels in Memphis

Great downtown location...fun! Clean and comfy rooms. Love Westin hotels, but always know that the extras are pricey. Self parking at the hotel was almost $20 per night, but worth it for the location, especially if you want to experience the downtown nightlife.

This Westin was a very nice hotel with a pretty lobby and nice, but way overpriced bar. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer, and the tab was $30. Also, the bar closes at 11, so that was disappointing to come back to after being on noisy Beale street and just wanting to come back to the hotel and relax in the lobby with a drink.

Rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice shower, but little bathtub. We had a room on a higher floor - view was nothing special, but we also didn't hear any of the noise from Beale street. There was a Starbucks around the corner, but you had to leave the hotel to get there. We got our breakfast there each morning instead of ordering from the room service menu.

We didn't use the fitness center, but our friends did and said it was very nice. We did use the business center to print out our boarding passes ahead of time.

The hotel is walking distance to the Peabody and several really good restaurants. We had dinner at Felicia Suzannes, which was recommended to us by the concierge, and would highly recommend it.

Check in and out went smoothly, as did the in/out service for the car.

Overall, it was a nice hotel and we would recommend it to others.

Friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms. A stones throwaway from beale street. Perfect in every way apart from a few of the locals who tend to spot tourists and rudely beg for money when they clearly have plenty/money for themselves, be on the whereabouts (although the police presence at the weekends in the evenings is relieving).

Well appointed; good rooms; good working desk/area. Complimentary bottle of water a nice touch. Gym fair small but sufficient. Hotel small than one would think in the number of rooms but does not feel small in any way. Staff very helpful. PERFECT location - right across from FedEx forum and the Gibson Guitar showroom and just the block over from Beale street - so you are near everything without having to be in the middle of everything.

I created an account just to review this hotel. We had an excellent stay here. This is a solid 4 star hotel, but the staff here is polished to the point that you feel you're staying in a 5 star resort. From the valet guys, to the concierge, to the front desk to restaurant staff...all of them are top notch.

The hotel is new, modern and very clean. Our room was large and had a very crisp, clean smell due to a central air filtration and freshening system. (As a side note, this has become a common feature among nicer hotels these days, but not many do it throughout the entire hotel like this one does. Most only offer it in certain rooms and only then is it available if you pay extra. However, I can personally attest to the fact that it does enhance the quality of your stay, especially your sleep.) The rooms are very well, yet simply decorated with floor to ceiling windows. Our room had a 32" (I think) LCD HD tv, a mini bar and an iPod dock. The bed was comfortable for a hotel bed and the sheets were soft. The bathroom was large, had a whirlpool tub and a walk-in shower with dual shower heads which was very nice.

Something I really liked about this hotel is how quiet it is, especially considering that it's literally in the middle of everything. It's so quiet and peaceful that you'd never know you're a block from Beale street. The hotel is located close to just about anything you'd want to do in Memphis. Beale street is a block away, Sun Studio, Stax Studio, Graceland, Civil Rights Museum...all are very close or a short drive from the hotel. Not to mention that the Memphis Grizzlies play literally across the street and their minor league baseball team's stadium is a couple of blocks down the street, within walking distance. All that being said, you'd never know it by how quiet the rooms are.

If I had to offer a complaint, the only things I could say would be one day when the maid service cleaned our room, they didn't leave us any towels. We noticed right as we got back to our room, but a lady knocked on our door less than 15 minutes later offering towels without us having to call the front desk. She explained that they ran our of towels on the cart but brought them to us as soon as the cart's stock was replenished. The other would be that the hotel bar closes too early. Honestly, I wouldn't even call these complaints and in no way should they deter you from booking your stay here.

I travel a lot for work and I stay in a lot of different hotels and the quality of the stay here versus all the hotels I have stayed at prompted me to post a review. For the money, you won't find a better stay than this. I have stayed in hotels that cost almost twice as much per night as this one that weren't as nice or comfortable. I highly recommend it.

As a SPG Platinum, this is the only place to stay when in Memphis. In total, my July 2010 stay was probably my 5th stay here.

I would have to stay that this is the best location in Memphis. 100 yards from Beal Street and all the fun that goes on there... Directly across the street from the Fed Ex Forum.

I've been there around New Years when the Liberty Bowl is happening and this hotel is always the headquarters for one of the teams playing in the game.

The rooms are are what you would expect from a Westin... Heavenly beds, dual shower heads... Very nice.

If spending some time in Memphis, I can't think of another place I would rather stay!

Great location, breakfast was really good value for a hotel breakfast. Fantastic concierge called joan, very knowledgable, arranged visits for us at very short notice. Only problem was with the parking, charging $18 a night for self parking in the adjacent multi storey was a complete rip off, pay yourself in the car park and check your hotel charges carefully. Overall we loved our visit to Memphis
