“nice atmosphere and good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2013

Have been here a few times now and the staff are always very friendly, the food has been great and it's very good value for money. Nice atmosphere in the pub. Haven't stayed there but it looks like a nice place to stay.

right in the town centre with parking at the back. Serves real ale, nice sized bedroom, adequately furnished. Food was not bad but not very special and a bit pricey for the quality. Staff very friendly. Llandovery is a bit grubby but surrounded by lovely countryside. Did notice that the extractor in my bathroom ran all night and could not be turned off, so not for light sleepers.

Just had an over night stay at this lovely inn. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. We stayed for diner in the evening and enjoyed tender Welsh lamb shanks followed by welsh cheeses served with port. Breakfast was also very good. We could not fault the food and there was a great selection of beers on tap.

This hotel was a sigh of relief for me, after last weeks experience just 20 miles or so away. Llandovery itself is a small but vibrant market town with alot of character, and the Kings Head just gives it a little more!

The rooms are very comfortable and well equiped, alas a little tricky to find along a maze of corridors - yet this forms part of the character of the place.

I didn't have an evening meal as i arrived late, but the breakfast was delicious! Thank you

Overall, a highly recommended hostelry with very comfy beds and friendly staff.

We stayed as a group in late January this year. We were looked after very well by all staff and Andy the manager. After a good nights sleep had a delicious breakfast enjoyed by all at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere, friendly and thorough staff.

Myself, my wife and our three year old Border Collie have just stayed at the Kings Head Llandovery .21st March to 23rd March.
Wow a truly fantastic Hotel, the manager especially had a great response to any question "yes no problem" and the excellent staff followed his lead, the food was good, varied and reasonably priced, the room was to a very good standard and nice and clean. My son who lives locally and his extended family came to visit and have a couple of meals with us they were equally well catered for,all six children ! the waitress treated them all very pleasantly and further enhanced our stay.In summary we can 100% recommend this hotel they try very hard to please and satisfy their guests and they are succeeding.
We will return.

We ate here on 15th February the food is totally amazing, the service was fantastic we felt like we were at a friends house having some food. My husband had the Ribeye steak and said it was the best he ever had!!! I had the Welsh rarebit which was fantastic and lasagne which was again probably the nicest one I've ever had. Excellent, Amazing and Fabulous.
