“Old fashioned charm”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

We stayed at this lovely country mansion for one night. The owner Martin was very welcoming and helpful. We had a super glass of fizz in the drawing room before dinner and a lovely meal in the intimate dining room. The starters were particularly good I had mackerel and my husband had pigeon.

The room was huge and well furnished with a view of the vegetable patch.

A lot of time, effort and thought has gone into the decoration of this mansion. They have done a brilliant job.

“An experience not to be missed”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

This was a dinner to remember. After a long, cold day wandering along the paths of the beautiful Hafod Estate we received the warmest welcome and tasted amazing Welsh haute cuisine. It wasn't just a meal; it was an unforgettable experience, from the very moment we entered the reception room and were welcomed by the host, to the delicious coffees served in the same room that concluded the evening nicely. What happened in between was full of flavour, smiles and atmosphere, as the other people in the room were evidently enjoying themselves as well. We hope to come back some day!

“What a gem!”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Food was divine, service was excellent. Lovely balanced choice of courses and portions were controlled and balanced. The menu was very good value for the standard of food and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Can highly recommend the Lebanese red on the wine menu - it really is a fantastic wine.

“warm welcome and amazing food”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Myself and my fiance had dinner here for my birthday. We arrived at the hotel and was wlecomed at the front door and taken in to a lovely room with a warm fire. Once we chose our meals and when they were ready we were taken to the restaurant and wow the meals were amazing. The service was very good and we were asked on a few occasions how our meals were. All courses were amazing and I highly recommend the scolops to start and venison for main. I also had a lovely suprise when my dessert came out. They dimmed the lights and had not only put a candle in my fodant but had also written happy birthday on my plate - a lovely touch for my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and as we live close by we will be back and will be recommending it to friends and family.
