“Tranquil haven, exceptional hospitality, away from the crowds”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

I almost do not want to write this review, for fear that everyone else will know, invade, about this tranquil haven...
Beautiful cottages, set back from the city of Neath, close enough to drive to in mins. Easy to get to Margam park and surrounding areas, Brecon & Swansea easy to get too from there also.
The cottages are set amongst beautiful scenery, peacful, tranquil and away from the crowds.
What seperates this guest house from the rest? Let me tell you.....
The attention to detail, the personal service, welcoming hospitality, caring and kind friendly, the fact that Lawrence and wife cares about your stay being the best, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful views and outside decking with tropical and native plants. Such a high standard of personal service, which is lacking in many larger hotels & hotel chains.
Breakfast was a full English, with cereals and toast, juices, and fresh fruit, all included in the price.
Another good point is there is plenty of tea and coffee in the room, and fresh milk in the fridge. There is also a microwave available to use, very handy when you have fussy eaters like me.
Light, airy & comfortable rooms, extra pillows & blankets available, plenty of wardrobe space
There is a beautiful decking area out the back by the breakfast room, where you can sit in the evening, peace, so tranquil and romantic with a glass of Sauvignon (you can bring your own and chill in the fridge)

I forgot to mention that i am a vegetarian, but a vegetarian hot breakfast was provided, which is a bonus, thank you

We were so impressed we booked to come back in the summer, highly recommend

What an amazing sanctuary! We felt as though heaven had opened its gates and blessed us with Lawrence and Cwmbach Cottages. Our stay was absolutely perfect and the accommodations were exceptionally clean, comfortable, well stocked kitchen, and an awesome view. The gardens and landscaping that Lawrence did added to the tranquility and peace. What a beautiful atmosphere to honeymoon in. The Welsh breakfasts were hot, hearty, and delicious!! We shall always cherish our memories of Cwmbach Cottages Guest House and of a very special man named Lawrence who made our stay so very special and memorable.

I called this place, 'my little piece of Heaven'. Stayed there for few days in April 2014. Beautiful, idyllic, peaceful. Accomodation superb, clean and comfortable, breakfast excellent and the host friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. More to do for adults in the surrounding area rather than very young children.

Lovely ! We had a fab stay the room was excellent as was the breakfast, the owners have a vast knowledge of the area and are more than happy to spend time to tell you about it. I will look forward to a return visit in the near future.

Room Tip: Must see Melin Court waterfall. 5 mins from guest house

What a peaceful spot! Wish we had more time to explore the area but it was just an overnight stay for us while we were travelling. The host was lovely, a large living area was at our disposal and a pretty outdoor area also. The room was large with free wi-fi and general facilities provided. The bathroom/toilet was a bit odd but definitely would not put us off staying again. The cooked breakfast was lovely.

It was a very sad trip as I was visiting a very sick relative. Fortunately for me, Lawrence and his staff at Cwmbach Cottages made my visit much more pleasant with their kindness and hospitality. I stayed for three nights and was most comfortable in my room. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and I was made to feel really at home. Thank you Lawrence :-)

Room Tip: I stayed in the Lilac Room and it was really nice.
