“Boring for us. God help the animals...”
Reviewed 6 June 2012 via mobile

Ok. It didn't help that it was raining, but this zoo has to be one of the most boring zoo's there is.

...But I feel more sorry for the animals there. They have very little space to move around. I'm not an animal behavioural expert, but the the bigger animals didn't look too happy. Anyway, if it's raining, don't waste your time going because all you'll do is huddle under trees wishing you were somewhere else.

“Excellent day out”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

Visited the zoo during a weekend away with the grandchildren. This is an excellent attraction on a number of fronts. Well laid out, plenty to see with loads of areas for picnics or cafe if you prefer. Very good value too. It is built into the side of a hill so those who struggle to walk may find it challenging otherwise it is a great day out. Shows with hawks, owls and penguins are very entertaining.

“Brilliant zoo in the mountain”
Reviewed 30 May 2012

My wife and I spent six hours at the zoo, this was without children. We had a brilliant time, the shows and talks were excellent very freindly staff. The zoo meanders around the mountain and forest therefore giving the animals and the visitor a sense of realism. Feeding time is not to be missed as the keepers make it very interesting. A great place for a picnic as the zoo is spread about, The kids far is best visited when the seals are being fed as they are on the other side of the zoo.

“best zoo i been too”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

Just read Hollysherwins review, what i load of rubbish. It must rate as one of the finest zoos for the natural habitat of the animals. As soon as you go into the zoo, on the left is an enclosure with bears in it. As i or my family have never seen bears in a zoo, we thought it was a perfect start. We were not disapointed, lovely little shows, beautiful grounds and what looked like well fed and nutured animals. As to rubbish, this is caused by thoughtless people, you cannot hold the zoo responible for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My grandson was totally amazed by it all, especialy the march of the penguins, awesome.
