“Great evening - able to cater for our large group”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

I was part of a large group of 30 people eating and spending the night and a few drinks at Tyn-Y-Coed. The staff were friendly and expertly managed to get all of our orders correct and served around the same time - no mean feat!

Stayed for 2 nights to explore local area.We were not disappointed. Setting beautiful, food excellent (especially breakfast) and the room (6) was plenty big enough. The bathroom though on the small side was newly fitted out and was immaculately clean ,would certainly ask for this room if staying again.Although it was on the front as others have stated the views were well worth any noise there may have been, and the double glazing did it's job and we were not disturbed by road noise. All staff were friendly and will no doubt stay here again at some time in the future. Distances from Betws-y-Coed(10 mins ) Portmeirion (45 mins) and Conway and Llandudno (30 mins).

Room Tip: Room 6 is farthest from the bar , and had dual aspect windows, but even if the bar was crowded not a...

I also stayed with the photography group. Very friendly and accommodating staff with usual pub grub. Huge double bedrooms though noisy at front. Internet a slight problem in these rooms but no problem in public areas. Excellent location though for touring this area.

A charming hotel in a lovely setting. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. My husband is gluten-intolerant, and it was a real treat for him to have so many choices of gluten-free dishes. Next time we will ask for a room away from the road, but we do hope to visit again!

A group of 9 of us stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of September. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. We were well looked after by George and Jane and all their staff were friendly and very helpful. Good homely pub grub, nothing fancy, but tasty and well cooked with some excellent daily specials. The public areas not quite up to the same standard as the bedrooms, but plenty of separate areas for groups to sit. All in all an excellent inn well located for exploring Snowdonia.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 to 6 are on the road side of the inn, so some traffic noise but not a problem and with a vie...

Very friendly place, staff were more than helpful. Food was good home cooked fare with local ingredients, and plentiful. Very well placed to visit Snowden etc. Rooms well fitted out, and comfortable beds. Very popular with the locals as well so that says a lot.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms on the back, but the best views are from the front.

Just back from running a photography workshop, based here. Very pleased indeed with the level of attention we received!
Lovely, honest and decent pub grub, well cooked and very tasty - nicely varied menus too.
Rooms large and very comfortable.
I will be coming back here again with my clients - thank you Tyn y Coed!

Room Tip: Ask for a front room to get great views of Moel Siabod, a dramatic mountain!
