“Perfect family break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

We've just returned from a 5 night stay here with 2 teenagers and an 11 year old! The views from the caravan were amazing! There was a lovely private patio area outside the caravan which was fenced so the dog couldn't escape. The caravans are well equipped with utensils such as tin openers that actually work. The kids loved the pool and it is within waking distance of the beach. Barmouth can also be reached by foot but too far for grumpy teenagers! Barmouth itself is lovely with some great places to eat near the harbour. The restaurant on site is fantastic so you don't need to go off site for a gourmet meal! We will definitely return to this site, it was a little taste of heaven on the Welsh coast.

Stayed here for a long weekend in a gold caravan. Arrived Friday morning and should of checked out on the Monday. We had the most amazing view over the bay with double doors opening on to a small patio. So on the Monday I went to reception when it opened at 9, and luckily for us the caravan was empty till the Friday so we booked 3 extra nights. The caravan was brill everything you could need. We have a 4 year old and a newborn. It's a very quiet site and has a lovely outdoor swimming pool. Can't comment on the restaurant as we ate in the caravan. The staff were all lovely and really helpful. There is access to beach across the road from the park but is a bit of a trek if you have pushchairs and beach stuff etc. Parking in Barmouth is very cheep and you can park really close to the beach. We really didn't want to leave, but will be going back as soon as we can.

I can't quite make this place out. The food is excellent and Hendre Coed justly has the reputation of being one of the best places to eat in the Barmouth area, however, it seems a bit odd to have a fine dining establishment on a caravan park and doesn't quite fit the setting. The food was excellent although the service was a bit slow. We didn't stay on site, so I can't tell you what the accommodation is like, but the site itself looked smart and is in a good setting overlooking the sea.

Stayed here in a Bronze caravan with my mum and my two little ones over the Easter holiday period. We booked on-line with no hassle at all and got a great deal at £50 per night for 3 nights. Easy check-in with lovely friendly staff, the caravan was spotless with clean fresh bedding, great outside patio area with the most amazing views out to the sea. You have everything you need including a hoover, my only tiny snag because we were eating in was that it took ages to cook anything in the oven. The kids loved the little park area and made some new friends playing out on the football pitch until the sun went down. The site itself is safe, spotless, its sited very steep which gives you the amazing views this was not a problem at all for us but could be for others. We walked to Barmouth and played on the beautiful beach everyday you can get there in the car within a couple of minutes. Would be stay again? Oh yes, we didn't want to leave and would love to come back in the summer when the outside pool is open.

Room Tip: We stayed in C4 which is only the second row in and on a flat to all the facilities.

Barmouth is a lovely clean place to visit with children. This static caravan site is by far the best in the area!! It is set into a steep hill side with means it can be hard getting up and down the hill when using the amenities of the site but this does mean all the caravans have an amazing view and especially beautiful sunsets!
The staff on this site are very nice and helpful and because it is fairly small it feels like they know you totally different to sites like haven etc
The only suggestions I would have for the site is to improve the childrens playarea outside making it suitable for most ages and to moderise and maintain the 'games room' a little more because it does feel dated now unfortunately. During this visit we did notice that the outdoor pool seemed grubby so avoided using it.
We will return to this site because the positives outweigh the negatives and i have simply made these suggestions as recommendations to help a very good site become excellent!
