“Spot on!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We were warmly welcomed by the owner to this lovely property and shown around - the kettle was on awaiting our arrival. The property is beautifully clean and has a tranquil atmosphere about it. Everything we could have wished for was provided. The property is upside down with two large bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor and the open plan kitchen, dining area and living room on the first floor. The property was once a barn and some of the original beams still exist. Outside, there is a patio area with clear sea views in front and hills surrounding you to the rear - the adjoining fields are often populated by the owners sheep providing interesting if somewhat indifferent neighbours! The patio area is also excellent for star gazing at night.
The property is very conveniently located - a 5 minute drive from Barmouth and a 20 minute walk along the prom. Barmouth itself is a lovely little seaside town with some great restaurants and cafes, a good pub or two and a fantastic beach. The beach at the town end is restricted for dogs - otherwise, judging by the number we saw in the town, dogs are very welcome.
There are some fabulous walks that you can take from Barmouth. The Mawddach Trail to Dolgellau, 9 miles and flat is very accessible for most and can be easily cycled (you can hire bikes from Birmingham Garage). The Dinas Oleu and Panorama walk around the hills of Barmouth provide some excellent views.
All in all, an excellent weeks holiday - we are definitely going back and well definitely stay at Beudy Gwenoliaid

This cottage was once a cowshed, but you wouldn't believe it to see it now. It is a charming cottage with walls that are built of stone and at least two foot thick. The conversion has been carried out to a very high standard and makes full use of the location and views by using an upside down layout, with the bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor and the living area upstairs with a lovely patio at one end. From the patio you can see the sea in one direction and the hillside in the other direction. The rooms are very spacious, well furnished and have a light and airy feel. The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is on a working (sheep) farm, but we found that it only added to the charm, and we'd far rather hear the occasional "baa" of a sheep than traffic noise.

“Beautiful little cottage, very friendly owners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Very nice place, well put together with everything you could need. Very clean, comfortable and warm. The only drawback was the Welsh weather - but it was so nice inside, we stayed in some days. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

“Excellent, comfortable, home from home cottage.”

As soon as we walked into the cottage it felt homely. Big comfortable sofa's in the lounge, large modern kitchen, kitted out with everything you needed whilst you were away. The owner even made sure that the kettle had just boiled as soon as we arrived. There was also a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge. The cottage was extremely clean and well laid out with the living room on the first floor to take advantage of the brilliant views. The owners are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is set in a stunning location but is only 5 mins drive from Barmouth. We had a lovely relaxing week at this cottage and would definitely go back for a re-visit.
