We visited the restaurant last night. Y Branwen looked a lovely place to stay but we only wanted to eat on this occasion. The bar area was welcoming and there was a good range of beers. What struck us was the happy atmosphere, some residents, some visitors and locals mixing together well. Substantial portions of good food served by cheerful staff, who checked if we were happy with our dishes. We recommend the fish and chips, very tasty especially with the addition of balsamic vinegar. The Camembert starter was lovely as we're the tempura King Prawns........all very good. It was a good idea to give some guidance on the wine list and the Chilean red was inexpensive but excellent. Shame we could visit only once.
