Gorgeous beach surrounded by sand dunes. Massive expanse of golden sand with room for every one so doesn't feel crowded. Only minor downside is the distance from the car park, which isn't *that* far but it's far enough with 4 young children and all the pharaphinalia that goes with a trip to the beach! :)

“Wonderful sands”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

Three miles of beautiful sands so plenty of room for everyone. Not crowded. Surfing, swimming, kite flying etc. peace and quiet, wonderful sunsets and beach views.
No shop near but there are toilets.
Not a place to go if you like it lively and with shops and promenade - there is none!

“One of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Gorgeous beach with lovely sand dunes backing onto Royal St David's Gold Course.
You can park in the main car park but an alternative to the quieter end is to park elsewhere and walk along the track the goes below Coleg Harlech. Cross the railway line on the footpath, taking care as you cross the fairway as people might be teeing off on the 17th. Follow one of the several paths (we keep left) and you will walk through the dunes to the beach. If you want a circular walk walk back along the beach to the main entrance from the car park and back to your start point.
The beach forms part of the Welsh Costal path so if you want you can continue to Ynys with great views of the mountains and you can always get the train back from Ty Gwyn to Harlech.
(currently suspended)
For the best views of the beach and mountains park in Llanfair and walk down to the main road to the footpath on the bend (close to Llandanwg turn off). This is a steep path down to the beach but there is a bench at the top to admire the scenery.

“Unspoiled beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

Wide sandy empty beach with mountain views. Loo and ice cream van in car park and short walk over dunes which is tarmac partway so we took the buggy down. Warm sea may benefit from gulf stream? Anyway very pleasant just slight sulphur smell occasionally.

“Don't go...and spoil it for me!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

4mile long beach with expanse of dunes behind and rock pools at one end. I love this beach! Always I can find space that makes me feel like it is my own personal beach. It's a walk from the car park which I think keeps the crowds down.
