“Very Pleasant Staff”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Stayed here for one night while working in the area. As soon as I arrived the freindliness of the staff was evident, and all the relevant meal times, location of bar / restaurant, fire exits and access details were efficiently given. Had a room at the rear of the premises with a view of a stone wall - but it was dark within an hour, and I was only there for the night anyway. Had a meal in the bar area (was asked if I wanted to sit in the restaurant, but the bar was more than suitable - and I could watch the football on the TV). Food was very tasty and filling, and there were a couple of Real Ales available as well. Not many guests or locals were in, but it was midweek in February, and suited me as it was quiet and relaxing. Breakfast the following morning was freshly cooked to order and ample. Would definately stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Room at the front if you want a view.

I have always wanted to visit Harlech Castle, and I booked a stay at Y Bronwen because it is literally right beneath the castle.

Everything about this little gem of a hotel was absolutely perfect. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and the facilities provided were those I would have expected to find in a much more expensive, higher rated hotel.

The staff were very friendly indeed. Food at both breakfast and evening meals was of a very high standard.

Although the hotel is situated on a main road, there really wasn't much traffic noise at all.

I would definitely stay here gain....hopefully for much longer next time!

We ahev just returned from three days golf in wales, staying at the Y BRANWEN hotel which is across the road litterally, from one of the best Golf course you could evr play, HARLECH.
The hotel was clean, comfrotable, and the food fabulous.
But Jo and her staff at the hotel were the most freindliest of hotel staff we have evr met on our trips. Well done Jo and staff.
A perfect hotel for anyone, especially golfers. with Harlech across the road.

Room Tip: If you have a room with the windows open you may get a little traffic noise, but nothing to worry ab...

This hotel was an absolute find. Jo was warm, welcoming and didn't mind the 4am wake up call to let us in. As an added bonus they didn't give us a check out time, which was much needed after a day of partying at Festival number 6. The rooms were lovely and clean and the bar well stocked. I can reccommend this to anyone in the area.

On visiting the area to play golf at Royal St David's for 2 days, we were recommended to stay at Y Branwen by the Hon. Sec. Well played, thats what I say. The location was perfect only yards from the course and the welcome we received was second to none. Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble, rooms were excellent and well equiped and the modern bar and restaurant were pleasing, homely and comfortable.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to future trippers.

We stayed here for one night in order to play golf at Royal St David's Golf club. The hotel was a great find. The room was spotless and very well equipped. The breakfast and evening meal were great. Fresh food and very well presented. The staff were very friendly. If we decide to play golf at Royal St David's again, we would not hesitate to book Y Branwen.

Room Tip: The front rooms have views over the golf course, but you could suffer road noise.

Went to the hotel because it said there was wifi and needed to keep in touch with family. There are hotspots but there is not free wifi everywhere.
If it is advertised it should be available especially when you are paying for it.
Shame as staff were friendly, room was good, breakfast was fresh but the web details oversell the hotel. It is by the main road next to the golf course and underneath the castle.

Room Tip: You are by a main road so get a rom at the back
