“YUM!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We booked two days in advance and are glad that we did!!! This was possibly the best meal we have had in years!!

The food was cooked very well and tasted great! The staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. They really went out of their way to help us (including a member of our party with leg in plaster!!). They answered all f our questions and even stood talking to us after our meal!!

I would recommend this to any one who enjoys their food.

Shame they do not take card and their restaurant isn't bigger as could seat a few more people as we witnessed a number of people turned away who hadn't booked.

Overall an excellent restaurant with incredible food.

“Why is this guy not famous?”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

When someone books a meal and says it's really nice Caribbean food the last place I'd think of is the lovable small town of Harlech in Wales - just shows how wrong you can be; from now on it's the first place I will think of!

We arrived early for a table for 7 and were accommodated straight away, which was particularly good as the restaurant only has about 30-35 covers.

The menu looked limited but, to be brutally honest, you are actually spoilt for choice when you delve deeper. The starters all arrived within moments of each other and all 7 diners polished off every morsel - always an excellent start!

The mains included the legendary goat curry and jerk pork amongst others; none of them failed to disappoint! Even the house selection of wines was excellent for the price and the both red and white complimented the food perfectly. The music was obviously carefully selected so that it didn't distract from the atmosphere.

The owner misses a trick here.... if he didn't make his food so nice, we'd have had room for desserts! However the Long Island Teas and Harvey Wallbangers are a suitable compromise.

The food is well priced and the service is excellent (circa £35 per head with starter, main, wine and a few extras). It is a great family run restaurant that really should be snapped up by a dragon, not of the Welsh variety, and franchised so more of the country can taste and savour this excellent food and experience! I couldn't convince the proprietor to franchise, on the night in question, so it's a long round trip until I can change his mind.

One last point: remember to take cash as they are now a cash only restaurant but don't worry, there is a cashpoint within a 3 minute walk - believe me, the food justifies your walk and them not having a card machine!

“Reggae reggae food!”

Fabulous food including good veggie options. Huge portions and lovely macaroni pie and coconut rice. Friendly and helpful staff and the owner is really lovely. Too full to eat pudding so had one of their great cocktails instead! Highly recommend.
