We had a lovely lunch here yesterday, overlooking the castle, in this beautiful tea room.
My husband had a Brie and cranberry panini with walnuts added at the waitress' suggestion (he doesn't eat bacon) and I had welsh rarebit - both hot and tasty served with an unusual and tasty mini salad. We also enjoyed some wonderful homemade chocolate cake.
The waitress was friendly and helpful. We weren't in any hurry at all but others seemed to be, and it felt like the waitress was running to catch up. Maybe it's because I've worked in a similar establishment in the past, but I wondered whether an extra member of staff serving at peak time might smooth things a little. Or maybe some light music would have calmed the atmosphere slightly?
