As a family we have stayed here on 3 occasions together with friends, the most recent being this last week. Each time reception have been able to organise my husband and me a room adjoining our children. Staff have been very helpful and facilitated our group all eating together in the bar and the children together on a number of mornings at breakfast. As ac convenient base for a group of families all holidaying together it worked very well. The children would say the highlights were the pool, breakfast and having the beach literally outside their window!

Available accommodation for a one night stopover on business in the area is pretty limited, so the Beaches Hotel almost amounted to Hobson's Choice.

I didn't anticipate anything particularly outstanding and in some respects these expectations were fulfilled: my room (110), although clean, was a little tired looking: outdated decor, rickety pine furniture, cracked bathroom mirror, temperamental Tv remote control. Sound proofing is pretty much non-existent, to the extent that at times I thought guests in neighbouring rooms were actually joining me, and there was a particularly annoying drone throughout the night that sounded like it was coming from a bathroom air vent.

All that said, there were also some pluses. In no particular order:

- The young lady on reception on Monday evening was extremely friendly and welcoming and a credit to the hotel. Service from other staff was courteous; no more, no less

- Car parking is plentiful and free

- The reception area is well presented

- Food in the restaurant was imaginatively presented and much better than expected

- Although no time was available for a stroll on the beach it is difficult to imagine a hotel that would closer

In summary, if the current refurbishment programme extends to all rooms the hotel will offer very acceptable accommodation for those looking for something at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room

Please be rest assured that your comments in relation to the room, will be investigated and resolved to ensure that there is no future re - occurrence. We are currently undergoing some refurbishment in some of our rooms, however, we do constantly strive to ensure all our rooms are fresh and comfortable, it is just unfortunate for your experience this was not the case.
I will most certainly pass on your kind comments to our receptionist that greeted you on Monday night, it is always nice to hear that our staff have enhanced a guest's stay and again it is great that we were able to surprise you with the quality and presentation of the extensive range of food that we have on offer.

6 of us (woman aged between late 30’s and early 60’s) visited the Beaches for a weekend for 2 nights. We had 3 twin rooms on a B&B basis.
The hotel is being re-furbished and though I don’t think our room had been done we had no complaints other than that the hotel was too hot. There was the smell of paint but the work didn’t disturb us at all. I had a nosy in the room next door that was being done up. They had replaced the bath with a large walk in shower. I hope that hotel remember that families with young children find it easier to bath their children rather than try and use a shower.
We ate in the main bar area on the first night and had an enjoyable meal from the bar snack menu rather than the main menu.
Breakfast include cereal, yogurt etc. and we were served with tea, coffee, toast and choice from the cooked menu, no complaints here. Service was good and friendly especially on the Sunday morning.
3 of us used the pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. This area looked a little bit tired but it was OK. The pool was very warm. I would think that the pool could become very crowded in peak season but for us it was OK. I didn't see any towels so assume you take one from the room or take your own as I did.
The beds were comfortable, there was a wardrobe, dressing table (hairdryer in the drawer) and bedside drawers, plenty of sockets and a mirror above the dressing table. There was a TV but we never tried it and tea and coffee making facilities.
Free Wifi was available and even on the top floor had no problem with connection.
We were visiting a friend who lives in Prestatyn and would certainly use the hotel again when visiting though I think I would prefer to do so outside of school holidays.
If the weather had been better it would have been nice to sit outside on the promenade bar area, perhaps next time.
Hope we weren’t too disruptive to other customers but we plan to be back!
Very good value.

Room Tip: either at the side or sea view if you don't want to look out over Pontins chalets

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback in relation to your stay with us recently at The Beaches Hotel. It is fantastic that you have given such a thorough account of your time here with us and what is even better is that no departments disappointed you and you had an enjoyable stay.
Just to go over a couple of the points that you have made, there is currently refurbishment work being carried out, we like to ensure that none of our guests are disappointed with the facilities we offer, so as such, we constant strive to maintain and update the hotel as much as we possibly can. With regards to the bathrooms being replaced with showers, this has only happened in certain rooms, the majority of our rooms do still have baths within the bathrooms, which have showers overhead, which are ideal for families etc.
It is great that you enjoyed the food that was on offer to you all and that you were able to utilise the leisure facilities also. In relation to the use of towels, you can use the ones from your rooms if you wish, however, a member of our reception team will happily organise one for you prior to you entering the facilities.
As also mentioned, it is a shame that you did not get to take full advantage of our large outdoor decking area, because when the weather is shining, that section of the hotel really is a great sun trap and the sunsets that you can experience from there are also not to be missed.
It would be great to welcome you back to the hotel in the future and if there are any enquiries you may have, please do not hesitate to contact Claire, who is our Sales & Marketing Manager, at claire@thebeacheshotel.com and she will happily assist you further

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback about your recent visit here at The Beaches Hotel. It is great to hear that the majority of your stay was pleasant and that our staff here within the hotel helped to enhance your enjoyment of the stay. Again thank you for your kind words about the food and also about our location. We really do have the perfect setting in which to relax by the sea. Room 236
April 1

Easy car parking in the car park to the front of the hotel - right in front of Pontins.

The hotel is generally in good order and there is a faint smell of paint in the corridor.

Room 236 looks over Pontins. Smallish but in good order. Main issue is a poor comfort bed.
Room is quiet.

TV Nd tea/coffee facilities and a shower but no bath.

Dinner in the bar area was good.
Breakfast - the room is empty for too long while the waiter chats in the kitchen - and the salt cellars need unblocking.

Would stay again but only with a more comfortable bed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about your recent visit here at The Beaches Hotel. It is good to see that the majority of your stay was enjoyable, it is just really unfortunate the bed that was supplied to you was not of comfort for you. We spent a weekend at this hotel and spent the whole time feeling like they'd rather we weren't there! When we arrived the receptionist barely looked at us. We checked in and when I asked where the restaurant was (our stay included dinner) she didn't even bother looking up from the computer to answer us.
The room was fine, small but fine for the price.
We went to the restaurant and ordered steaks even though this was a £5 supplement on our included meal allowance. We felt it would be worth it as the listed price for the steak was £18. Unfortunately the steaks that came would have been disappointing even if they only cost £5 in total! We had asked for them to be cooked rare but they were completely burnt on the outside.
After a very bad nights sleep in a very uncomfortable bed we had a lovely day out in Llandudno and were ready to put the previous nights disappointments behind us and enjoy our second evening at the hotel. However, we went to the bar to get a drink before dinner to find the bar full of wedding guests. As we didn't want to feel like gate crashers we went to reception to ask where we could get a drink if we were not wedding guests. A lounge bar was advertised and we had seen people drinking in the lounge but we were told that the bar full of wedding guests was our only option. It was also suggested that we eat in the bar rather than going to the restaurant. Given that we had a dinner inclusive package and had expected a nice restaurant, not a rowdy bar, we decided to go to the restaurant anyway. On arrival we were told that they had hoped no one would come to the restaurant as they were busy with the wedding and preparing for Mother's Day!!! This totally summed up our time at the hotel, we felt like we were an inconvenience to them.
On a positive note, our waiter that evening, Geoffrey, was the only member of staff to speak to us in a friendly way during our entire stay.
To add insult to injury when we settled out bill when leaving £40 had been added. When I asked what it was for I was told it was a mistake as we'd been charged the full price for the steaks instead of the supplement. This was obviously a lie as the steaks were £18 each. The extra was taken off the bill but there was no apology offered. I think this is probably common practice as a lot of people will just hand their card over without checking the bill.
We travel a lot, both in this country and abroad and I have never felt the need to write on trip advisor before this stay. After a very disappointing weekend I felt that I should warn other people about this hotel.

It is with regret that we read the way in which your weekend here at The Beaches Hotel has made you feel. This is by no means common practice and it is unfortunate that you feel that you have not received the high level of service that we aim to provide all our guests with, to ensure an enjoyable stay.
Even more disturbing is you feel that each department within the hotel has contributed to the downfall of your weekend. Please be assured, your comments will most certainly be dealt with by a member of management and thoroughly investigated to ensure that future instances do not occur.
With regards to the wedding guests, all our weddings are allocated their own private function room, which guests generally stay within, however, from time to time the wedding guests do use the Promenade Bar to either gain access to outside or to purchase a drink, however this should not impact on our other guests within the hotel and it is unfortunate that you felt like an intruder to the function, this is most certainly not what we would like to portray. Our restaurant was open on Saturday evening and you were completely welcome to use the facilities, regardless of whether or not you were on a dinner package, the facilities are open for anyone to use. Again the comments about the hotel being busy are unacceptable and will be fully investigated.
In relation to the mishap with the bill, there had been a technical glitch which resulted in your meal allowance of £15 per person, along with the £5 supplements remaining on your bill, which equates to the £40 overcharge. And I can assure you that it is not common practice to charge guests incorrectly and once the problem was highlighted it was duly rectified for you.
I would however like to discuss your complaint in more detail if possible and therefore could I please request that you drop an email to myself, I am Claire and I am the Sales & Marketing Manager here at the hotel and my email address is claire@thebeacheshotel.com which contains a contact number for yourself please and I will happily contact you so we can discuss the above further
I look forward to hearing from you
