Just returned from a weekend at pontins prestatyn! We took a group of young people with learning difficulties and had a most wonderful time!
The chalets were clean, updated and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and helpful, the manager even came to meet all the kids on arrival with the bluecoats and characters, and we were treated like royalty! We all absolutely enjoyed our time here, staff couldnt do enough for our kids!! You can see that improvements are being made at the camp...but rome isnt built in a day!...the camps have suffered from a lack of investment in the last 30 years, but this is slowly being put right! I do feel sometimes that we are a nation of moaners, but lets remind ourselves, what we actually get for our money...accomodation, entertainment, activities, full facilities, swimming for £35 for a weekend for two people ?? Thats around £9 per person per day!....granted the rooms at The Hilton are a little more modern, but i think are reflected in their costs!!... All in all, We will be returning with our young people, as we thorougly enjoyed the place, the staff, the characters, the facilities and the entertainment!! Thanks pontins!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We didn't even unpack the car. We paid £60 for a Mon-Fri break from Groupon. We did not expect much after paying that price, but we have never seen anything like it. The room was filthy - food from previous guests, feet stuck to the floor, stained mattress, plaster hanging off the wall, front door looked like it had been kicked in, filthy windows. And the final straw - a disgusting urine and poo stained toilet.

Our feet stuck to the carpet in the arcade area and everywhere on the site was filthy. There was litter and broken bottles on the grass area.

We had taken our 2 year old toddler and there was no way we were staying! We were offered an upgrade but after seing the facilities it was time to go home. I have written to Pontins and complained (there was a complaint book at the reception which had to be filled in, so we were not the first to complain!). Pontins have said they offered us an upgrade so we aren't entitled to a refund. Will be complaining to Groupon and watch dog.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Don't make the same mistake as us and loose your precious week off work.

Room Tip: Don't go!!

Myself and my partner took advantage of the 9.50 sun holidays and decided to go to prestatyn sands as it was offering free entertainment and no service charge.

As we drove up my partners 1st words were "it looks like a concentration camp" and going into the rooms wasn't much better. You only get a grotty sofabed that is very uncomfortable.

The food is shockingly bad and very bad value for what you get.

Having said all this. We are are a couple on our own with no children. The only saving grace to this resort is for children the entertainment is very good. For adults however there is no options. And we spent most of the time off exploring Wales.

well what an experience we have just returned from Pontins Prestatyn 1st time and last,1 positve was the entertainment it was held in the Old Victoria Pub which compared to the rest of the site was reasonably clean.Negative's (too many to mention) apartments dated had to use coats to block up 2inch gap under door, self catering for 4 people, comprised of 2 knifes forks teaspoons,3 odd plates no glasses,1saucpan,frying pan pyrex dish,we did have a toaster, kettle, microwave, but one plug socket in the kitchen made it awkward and the cooker and have hot water could not be used at same time,or the electric would trip,we took our own bed linen but ended up buying mattress protectors pillows and duvets as the one provided were covered in stains. The site advertises lots of places to eat but everything was closed although that was probably a good thing as cleanliness and hygiene was lacking.Thank god we hadn't paid for half board! The carpets in the amusement arcade and entertainment venues were filthy and smelt terrible and the whole site needs a good clean. We have stayed with several holiday companies (butlins haven, park dean )ect but can honestly say this was the worse one we have ever visited. We managed to find some nice pubs locally and ate out every night.Had a chance to win a free return visit NO THANKS!! not even for free.

We took advantage of the sun offer, 3 nights for £60. We was aware that reviews were mixed and that worst case scenario we would use the location as a base to explore North Wales. We took our own bedding, sleeping bags and cleaning material. Our room was dated and in need of a serious clean rather than the token five min job it probably gets every week but we wasn't there to live in the room so made do. At the price we paid we wasn't surprised. The kids quickly found the play areas and had plenty to occupy them. The evening entertainment was really good, with a choice of rooms. Magic shows, singers, Captain Croc, karaoke, something for every one. Blue coats were energetic and professional.
Not everything was perfect but the kids don't notice these things. There was members of the Knott-Wright family. Drunken teens stumbling around, but nothing intimidating. On the other hand a lad with downs syndrome sang Robbie Williams Angels during the karoake and all the audience sang along, plenty of positives. I enjoyed the weekend, the kids absolutely loved it from ages one to nine. Also recommend the fair at Towyn for value if you fancy a day out.

i have never been anywhere as dirty as this place.the windows were filthy in the chalet and outside on the passageway between the chalets the floor was all greasy . inside the chalets which were supposed to be self catering we were supplied with one frying pan,one pyrex dish,a kettle a teapot with a lid that couldnot be closed a toaster and a microwave no saucepans and no rack for the grill. the main cooker blew the trip if you used the oven and a ring together.the carpets in the main hall and bar stank so bad that they need replacing not just cleaning.needless to say after the first night we ate out and went out to drink.there is a very nice crown carvery just a couple of miles away.
