“Lovely Setting”
Reviewed 17 July 2012

Recently stayed at this lovely B&B in Mold for 1 night with my husband as we were visiting family in the area. We have previously stayed in hotels but as it was a last minute booking everything was booked and came across this B&B on the Internet that had really good reviews. it really does live up to the good reviews. It's location was only a 5min drive from Mold town and the "Stately Home" was spacious and spotlessly clean. The rooms are large with lovely views of the lakes/garden and there are plenty of supplies of tea & coffee etc. It was quite refreshing having a peaceful nights sleep as I am a light sleeper. The breakfast was served at 9am in the Drawing Room which was cooked to order and was very enjoyable, much nicer than in many top hotels we've stayed in. My only drawback here would be that you could end up sitting with other guests and as its so quiet it might be abit awkward but this wasn't an issue for us. On checking out we were given a tour of the house which was a really nice touch. We will definitely be staying at this B&B again if possible in the future.

What an amazing place. A wonderful old building and beautiful grounds. Marie and Charles are gracious hosts. The rooms are huge and beautifully maintained. Crisp white sheets and beautiful tall elegant windows looking out onto the pond and gardens. Marie sets a delicious breakfast table with all you could ask for. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Why would you stay in a hotel when you could sleep in a 700 year old building!

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful

Totally agree with previous reviews, the owners/ hosts are lovely, you arrive a guest and leave feeling you are leaving as a friend.
We were in Lady Mainwaring room, a big room with a massive bed, a window overlooking the lake. The ensuite was new and spotless, with only a walk-in shower, no bath.
The Sir George Wynne room has an ensuite with a bath, Wettenhall room has a separate private bathroom down a few stairs, not really a problem as only three rooms are let out and you are given dressing gowns to use.
We visited Chester for the day, less than 15 miles away, using the park and ride, we were on the bus heading into town within 20mins of leaving the Tower.
Would love to stay again if in the area.

We booked this bed and breakfast to celebrate our 18th Wedding Anniversary away from the children.

The room was an amazing 18ft cube and maintained in keeping with the age of the property - 500 years in the family.

We were driven to our chosen venue for dinner and had a great breakfast. We stayed for 2 days, but we wished it could be longer.

Well worth a visit! We also had a tour of the house and an insite into the families dubious past!!

Room Tip: Well worth having the room with a bath.

Excellent B&B set in beautiful surroundings. Couple who own it were delightful and the room was enormous, full of beautiful furniture, was spotlessly clean and the breakfast exceptional. We will stay again.

Breakfast in the drawing room was sublime, and the home-made marmalade too!

Room Tip: Ring beforehand as you will struggle to find it with satnav!
