“An ideal place to stay on business or on holiday in NE Wales”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

Stayed at the Plas Hafod for 3 nights while on business in North Wales.

What impressed us immensely during our stay was the friendliness of all the staff who genuinely seemed very interested in not only ensuring that all their customers were well looked after but also were happy to be working there.

Our room was interesting and opened out onto a patio where we could park our car and therefore take our cases directly into it.

The menu for dinner was extensive and extremely reasonably priced. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent. Further testament to this was the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon as it was for the evening meals. As I don’t think that the majority of the clientele were staying as guests this reflects on the reputation of the restaurant in the local community.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent.

We enjoyed the food so much that we ate there for the 3 nights of our stay and each time the dinner & breakfast was consistently excellent.

We've travelled to the area a few times over the past few years. It's a pity we hadn't found Plas Hafod sooner but hopefully we'll be back in a few months.

I cannot rate the Plas Hafod highly enough. We have visited for meals several times and they are always of an excellent standard. My only gripe is the the vegetarian option does not change very often at all - I have however been told if I mention this when booking something else can always be made.

The lead up to our day was stress free. We mainly spoke to Peter, but if we had a query anyone was able to deal with it well.

The staff on our wedding day were exceptional. Everything ran like clockwork and our fabulous Master of Ceremonies, Paul, was there every step of the way to make sure we knew what was happening and when. The food was served quickly and efficiently so that all 70 of our guests were eating together.

Our room, The French Room, was beautiful. The rooms are filled with character and period furniture. This might not be to everyones taste but it suits the venue.

We've been back for a meal since, and to thank the staff in person.

The perfect wedding venue.

The consistency at this hotel is excellent. I have never had a poor meal here and the views from the conservatory are beautiful. Meals are home made, mouth-watering and the menu changes often.

Bedrooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast in the morning is very good.

Looking forward to return to this hotel in the near future.

Room Tip: The Victorian room was very comfortable and full of interesting features.

My family and I have been coming to the Plas Hafod for over 30 years and in that time I cannot recall any bad meals.
My fiancée and I booked our wedding two years ago for Sat 7th Sept, both Peter and Paul (yes, really) said we'd have a day to remember and they didn't let us down, nothing was too much trouble, food was fab, plentiful, tasteful, staff were attentive and everyone ate together.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough, you will not be disappointed, even if it's for just a meal.

There are views through trees to the Cheshire plain from this Restaurant, which is an excellent lunch venue. Two or three courses with wide choice of starters, good mains and sweets. Food excellent, staff welcoming and friendly. I commend it.

As regulars of the Plas Hafod, we had another lovely lunch today! I chose Pork Pakora, with spicy sweet potatoes, salad, & dips as a main course, it was absolutely gorgeous! Thanks to Emma & the team for another lovely lunch!
