Arrived 50 minutes before check in time and told by the Rottweiler on reception that our room was ready, but if we wanted to check in we would have to pay £20, in all the years of staying in hotels( and a lot better than this) we have never heard such rubbish! To be honest if we had not pre-paid we would not have come back after our shopping trip in Chester. Luckily when we did return to check in the staff had changed and we were met with nice staff!!! We had booked an executive double and the room was large and had a sofa and was the nicest thing about the hotel. We were going to eat in the restaurant but there was no atmosphere, so we opted for the Arches Bar. We had some average food, nothing to complain about but nothing to write about either! The hotel had lots of coach trips and lacked any atmosphere. All I can say is book an executive room and you will get a nice room, make sure you don't arrive early and don't expect any personal touches.

Room Tip: Pay for an executive room

Nothing really to recommend this place except for the free wifi. It seems to make its money from package tours and local events and so it doesn't have to try too hard for the individual traveller. The rooms are OK but need a bit of a refresh and with the automatic fans in the bathrooms can get rather noisy. Reception was hostile and despite having a function to attend we were also invited to pay an extra £20 for an early check in. In over 50 years of staying in hotels world-wide it's never happened to me before.

The room is spacious and tidy with fresh towels each day, the food is fantastic and the staff cannot do enough for you. We have loved our stay and the hotel is a great base for seeing Wales. The only thing missing is leisure facilities but takes nothing away from what the hotel has to offer

My family and I had a lovely stay at The Beaufort Park Hotel. It was great value for money. The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was beautiful, wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend to family and friends to come and stay here.
