“Lovely stay in the country”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

We booked the caravan at Glan Llyn for 2 nights.
We were going to a wedding at a nearby hotel and Glan Llyn offered very reasonably priced accommodation in a very rural location.

The farm is lovely with chickens, horses and a lama all within sight of the caravan. We fed the chickens in the morning and I'm sure Richard thought I may steal one as I loved them so much.

The caravan was nice and cosy and very clean.

(It is a static caravan so if you haven't stayed in one before please research this.)

We loved it! We made cooked breakfast every morning and the kitchen facilities were very good.

The price split between up to 6 people makes it very cheap for good quality accommodation.
The rooms were small and beds very comfy. There was nothing that we were missing and a good clean supply of towels.

Richard was a friendly host with lots of advice about the local area.

The weather is miserable in November but can't wait to come back in the summer as the scenery is beautiful! We didn't stay in the house but it did look beautiful inside. Very much recommend both the caravan and the b&b.

Thanks for a lovely stay!

Definitely in the sticks and away from it all, but I liked that. Also, it is a bed and make your own breakfast. The owners were not going to get up and serve you it, but you could help yourself to fresh farm eggs, and milk and anything else in the 'fridge' and make your own.

We had a late dinner at an amazing pub up the road "I think the sun rise" that was old enough that you had to duck going through doorways, and I am 5' 8". Curry and chips. This was recommended by our hosts. When we got back at well past 10 pm, we were invited in to join them and some Italian friends and treated like family. No issues with the amenities, though they are still working on continuing renovations and improvements. Nothing that kept us up, or woke us up.

Great B & B, our host Richard could not have been more friendly or helpful. Set in a beautiful rural location, we really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very good, amazing power shower to use after some country walking. You are within striking distance of a ton of attractions/places of interest so all in all I would highly recommend staying here :-)

We stayed in Richard and Paola's country B&B this past July while exploring Wales. Their place was warm and welcoming. They were wonderful hosts and were very helpful recommending places to see and restaurants in their area. Staying with them was like visiting friends, we had many an interesting conversation at their kitchen table. Would definitely recommend staying at their B&B .

Northern Wales has our favorite castles and beautiful countryside. GL is outside of Mold and a good place from which to visit both countryside and castles. GL does not do hot breakfasts, but they provide a bounty of "samples" to eat...cereals, snacks, drinks, etc, plus in-room fridge and access to a complete kitchen. It's more like self-catering, a little farm-like, and worked very well for us. The owner provides caring hospitality and touring help as needed.

Room Tip: We nicknamed the rooster Stewie after a cat with character back home.

We had the pleasure of just one night here recently and can't praise the owners, Richard and Paola, highly enough. They have created something quite special.

On arrival we were a little taken aback (no prior research) to find that it was more a private house than a B&B and, more importantly, it appeared to be a building site!

Within five minutes of walking thru the door any fears we had were allayed by the warm welcome we received and the beautiful room we were to sleep in.

Everything about the place evidences the thought, care and passion that has been spent on creating this little haven. Nothing was forgotten.

I was quite unwell when we arrived but the comfort and tranquility here really lifted my spirits. I took to my bed (very comfy) and left husband in the lounge watching tennis, it wasn't long before Paola insisted he had a big bowl of strawberries and cream, followed by grapes and chocolates and wine and... I think at this point he burst!

The atmosphere was just so relaxing, all the guests and the owners just muck in together. You can take your own food to cook in their very well equipped kitchen (nearest shops a 10min drive) or there is a pub nearby.

The next morning before we left I revived enough to visit the stables and see their horses and llama. I can imagine that kids would have great fun lending a hand with the chickens and sheep too.

I have only one complaint... They were fully booked and we couldn't extend our stay, we would probably still be there.

We had taken our horses to a nearby location for a rehabilitation clinic. It had been a long day and when we arrived very tired and too late to go and eat Richard and Paola simply shared their own meal with us! Totally unexpected. Our horses did not settle at the other nearby location and were cold and miserable, so at the drop of a hat we brought them to Glanllyn where they immediately settled and fell asleep. Better still we could see them from the bedroom window of the Butterfly room which was beautifully designed/decorated and full of delicious snacks. What more could we ask for? They helped us with every aspect of our stay and really couldn't do enough for us.

Room Tip: if you have horses then you can see them from the Butterfly room!
