“Excellent Food With A Great Atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

Having eaten at many indian resturants The Spice Bank rates right up there, in fact it was so good we ate there on Friday and Saturday night on a recent break in Criccieth.

“Check your change. Taking the p(ounds)…”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013

We left it to chance as we had not booked anywhere to dine on a Bank Holiday weekend evening.

This was not our first choice, but they made us welcome and served us with the service we would expect.

The menu is good and they served what we ordered within a good time scale.

Once we had dined is when the problem started.

As we were two couples dining together we split the bill. The other couple paid by card, and we wanted to pay our half using the good old method of cash.

The card transaction was done ok and we paid in sterling and awaited our change, which never came. It is as though they had assumed it was a tip. Finally we had to ask for it. Eventually a staff member returned with most of it. It was 50p short. We took all of the change and told them to keep 50p as a tip.

Sorry to say that for this action they get a negative review and we will NOT be returning.

“Great food - service needs improving”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013 via mobile

We visited this restaurant last October and almost never returned. The service at the time was poor and we had two children with us who shared a main (this didn't go down well)! As with Indian restaurants the bill was quite high too.

This time we chose the Sunday all day buffet! Bargain! Two kids (£6.95 each) and three adults (£9.95 each) when we arrived it was packed out and we popped to the Bryn Hir just across the road for a pre dinner drink! The food was fabulous with loads of it - the kids ate and ate! The service was still poor but the cost and quality of food made up for it!
