“great location for golfers.”
Reviewed 16 July 2011

We were a party of 12 mature golfers, some visiting the area for the 1st time others old friends of the area. Anna and Ian ,being golfers themselves ,understood our requirements completely and could not have been more helpful.Bedrooms are clean and roomy, the food is plentiful and superb quality especially breakfast. The staff are polite and friendly . Cricieth is an ideal location for a base to play Porthmadog, Nefyn, Pwllheli and Royal St David.
We all look forward to our next trip to the area when I'm sure we will once more stay at the Plas Isa.

Room Tip: Good views from sea facing rooms but a bit noisy near main road.Much quieter at the back.

A pleasant and comfortable hotel. Worth the extra to book a sea facing room for the lovely views. Breakfast was typical English (Welsh) breakfast freshly prepared. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I couldn't ask for more.

2011 is the third year my brother and I have spent a week in Plas Isa, playing the local golf courses. Local courses are excellent and very good value.
The hotel is comfortable, easy-going and Anna's food is great. Try the Welsh Black beef !!
We will be returning.
Frank Brennan.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are best but book early.

I have just returned from a week cycling in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales with a group of 12 friends from the Spokes CTC club. We stayed 2 nights at the Plas Isa Hotel and they were without doubt the best 2 nights of the 8 day trip. We were welcomed by exceptionally friendly staff and shown to superbly furnished rooms with some astonishing sea views. The owner helped house our cycles securely and showed us to a welcoming bar!

The food and service were very much higher than we had been accustomed to, the staff really friendly and joined in with our banter. The food was first class in terms of choice, freshness, cooking and of course ( essential in our case) volume ;-). The bar remained open and well stocked and catered for most needs.

Breakfast was a real treat with absolutely everything a hungry cyclist could wish for; porridge, fresh haddock, fruit, toast and of course the "full Welsh" - we could hardly get on to our bikes. Water bottles were filled for us and a cheery wave off from the superb owners.

Many thanks for a memorable stay and I am sorry but........ we WILL be back!!

Cheers
Stewart

Stayed here 2 nights with 12 other of my cycling friends as part of our 500 mile Tour of Wales. Couldn't fault the place, very friendly owners and staff, great accommodation kept spotlessly clean and the food, well the food was the highlight of our stay here. It was cooked and presented in a very professional manner and for £20.00 (3 courses) was a steal. I'd highly recommend this place - you will not be disappointed.

Yes-truly otstanding hospitality. I have stayed at this hotel with a group of golfing friends for many years now. The catering this year was the best I have ever experienced. From succulent lamb shank on Sunday evening to the equally sumptuous Welsh black beef on the following Tuesday evening , the whole party agreed unanimously that the food this year in particular exceeded five star quality and could not possibly be improved upon anywhere in the world. Congratulations all round I say!

We were all made to feel welcome ; the extra effort put in by Ian and Anna in the few days we enjoy away each year are the obvious answer to why we return again and again. If only we could stay longer and partake of such more frequently.

I look forward to our visit again next year with eager anticipation

You will be hard pressed to find a hotel that provides better breakfasts and evening meals. In particular, the menu for evening meals is extensive and the food quality is superb. Decor in all rooms is pretty good - though the bar and bathrooms are beginning to look a little dated but are all exceptionally clean. Anna and Ian, together with their staff provide a warm welcome.

Room Tip: Rooms 6 & 12 provide the best views
