“Comfortable stay. Good home cooking.”
Reviewed 29 August 2011

We stayed for two nights and found the staff to be very friendly. We had dinner on the first night and tried the Welsh lamb which was delicious. Breakfasts were good and plentiful.
We stayed in room 6 which had fabulous views of the sea and castle. The room was clean and comfortable.
We would stay again as it was good value.

Room Tip: Room 6 has fabulous sea and castle views. Very comfortable room.

A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful owners. They made our golfvacation in Wales a memory for life. Magnificent view of the ocean and castle. Good food. Excellent location for golf with lots of good courses within half an hours drive.

Room Tip: We had the seafacing rooms with a lovely view but they were also facing pretty heavy trafic if you a...

We booked a night here as we wanted a base before a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway . We had a nice double room quite small but, with sea and castle view (rm 11). The room was nicely decorated and clean as was the bathroom, although a little dated. The restaurant food was very good, I particularly enjoyed the baked goats cheese starter!
The room was at the front near the road but we didn't notice the road noise and slept very well.
Cooked breakfast was good , there was cereal and some simple canned type fruits and yoghurt.
We would stay there again happily. Owners are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: rm 6 and 12 are the biggest with bay windows and sea views, but one is a twin. Rm11 is a sea view bu...

Booked at last minute for a midweek break initially for 2 nights - but loved it so much we stayed an extra night. The room was pleasantly decorated with fantastic views (well worth the 2 flights of stairs) clean and well looked after. Clean towels everyday was a lovely touch. Breakfast was hearty but not overwhelming just how we like it. Liked how any rooms that were not occupied had the doors left open for other guests to see - and I think someone else that arrived on spec, were invited to take a look at the rooms with doors open to pick their room another very good idea. We didn't have chance to sample the evening meals but the smells from the kitchen were divine and will certainly sample next time - yes do hope there will be a next time (nudging the other half as a hint!). Ideally located for visiting other local areas we managed to fit in Porthmaddog, Harlech Castle, Beddgelert and Criccieth itself. Even though the hotel is on a main road it is reasonably quiet and well located to visit other places. Glad to say upon return there will be still plenty to see and do.

Only needed a one night stay but would have loved to stop longer. You can see the rooms available when you book over the internet as I did. They are all furnished to a high standard with en suite. The hotel is impeccably clean everywhere. We were made to feel very welcome, had chance to have an evening meal but due to prior plans could not make. However, if it is cooked and served like the breakfast, should not be missed. All round a very very pleasant experience and would certainly go back again.

Room Tip: It's a personal choice with the rooms available. We chose a twin side view room, but the sea vie...

We were a party of 12 mature golfers, some visiting the area for the 1st time others old friends of the area. Anna and Ian ,being golfers themselves ,understood our requirements completely and could not have been more helpful.Bedrooms are clean and roomy, the food is plentiful and superb quality especially breakfast. The staff are polite and friendly . Cricieth is an ideal location for a base to play Porthmadog, Nefyn, Pwllheli and Royal St David.
We all look forward to our next trip to the area when I'm sure we will once more stay at the Plas Isa.

Room Tip: Good views from sea facing rooms but a bit noisy near main road.Much quieter at the back.

A pleasant and comfortable hotel. Worth the extra to book a sea facing room for the lovely views. Breakfast was typical English (Welsh) breakfast freshly prepared. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I couldn't ask for more.
