“5 days at PLAS ISA”
Reviewed 3 May 2013

Having gone to North Cornwall for very many years at this time, our group wanted a change so we opted for North Wales and made our base the Plas Isa Criccieth.
Our 5 day stay was excellent. The hotel/rooms were of good standard and Ian and Anna the proprieters made us all very welcome. The food was outstanding.
We have already booked for next year so I think that says it all.

As part of a group of 8 golfers of mixed ability, we booked the Plas Isa as part of a golf break in March 2013. This was our visit and as a result would highly recommend a stay here. Ian and Anna were excellent hosts and made us all very welcome. We dined in the restaurant on both nights and he food was top notch...home cooking at its best! The rooms are a clean, comfortable and a good standard. The Plas Isa is a very of 3* hotel and we have ready booked our return trip.

Definitely will return. It's very old school BB furnishing which I found charming. A counter pane on the bed was so sweet.just lovely. The restaurant is locally renowned and the food was excellent.
If I have to make a negative, the plumbing is awful. I thought the shower was broken as it took minutes for the water to heat. That is of course their problem, not the guest's

Room Tip: We had room 6 . The view is magnificent.

Just returned from the Plas Isa after a golfing weekend away with 15 friends. Firstly I would like to thank Anna, her family and her staff for a very enjoyable stay. The food was gorgeous and plentiful, the accomodation clean and comfortable and the staff cannot do enough for you. Played at Pwllheli, Abersoch and Nefyn. Upon our return from Abersoch soaked to the skin, it was no problem for Anna to take all our wet weather gear and tumble dry it for us all.
Stayed in the bar all night to watch a fantastic Ryder cup finish to top off a brilliant weekend.
I would recommend this accomodation for anybody visiting the area wether it is for golf or walking (the coastal path around the Lleyn peninsula is absolutely stunning) or just a nice break away. Thanks again Anna.

Not 5 star but doesnt say it is. Spotless throughout, rooms more than decent, especially the sea view room. Food was first class, plenty of it, and abolutely gorgeous. All staff were very helpful and polite. Anna always available to advise on local facilities especially local golf courses and more than ready to advise on and find alternatives if weather dictates. Anna will go out of her way to suit visitors, we changed meal times no problem and they also assisted greatly with wet golf gear.

Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: request sea view -room 6

This was a last minute choice for a quick weekend break, and a good choice it was. Ok, we're not talking 5 star comfort with spa's and swimming pools, but if you want a nice place, friendly owners, helpful staff, a superb bed, and a view to die for - although I admit we paid the £20 extra for 2 nights in the huge bay fronted rooms - then you can't really go too far wrong with booking into here. Bad bits - let's be honest - the bathroom suite isn't the newest. It's clean, serviceable & you get a good flush from the loo. There's no mould round the sealant, the shower is hot & powerful, and the bath doesn't do an unhealthy dance under my feet when I get in because it's a thin fibreglass bath. Nope, this is a good old fashioned heavy duty suite. Good points - breakfast, staff, owners, bed, and the view. So, in sequence....a damn fine breakfast, well cooked & loads of it. Staff & owners - helpful, friendly, and not intrusive at all. Bed - well, it was a superking, made up of two singles, but it was also one of the best nights sleep I've had in ages. View - pay the extra to get a front bay window, as it was superb to look across the bay, the castle to our right, Harlech to the left. Comfy chairs, a big table, we sat there for hours, reading, watching the world go by, enjoying the relaxing ambiance.
So, £170 for two nights B&B in a nice clean, friendly, place with good food & a great view - basically, book it, and enjoy.

Room Tip: We had room 6, which was above the dining room with a huge bay window.
