I would love to review the food at Granville's but didn't actually get the chance to eat there.
I visited with my partner at 7.45 on a very quiet sunday evening. There were about 6 other diners. As we approached the two waitresses, they appeared to be puzzled as to why we were there in the first place. We stated the obvious for them and requested a table - one of the waitresses told us in a sullen tone that the chef had probably "packed his things away" and we were too late. One of the women offered to go and ask the chef. She was gone for several minutes during which the other waitress made no attempt at friendliness and clearly has no concept that she is part of the service industry.
We didn't even bother waiting to see if the chef could accommodate us. There is surely nothing worse than a restaurant who seem to think they are doing YOU the favour by just being there.
We ended up going to The Lion hotel just across the road and received a very warm welcome and high quality food.
