This felt like a 5 star hotel. The single room was far more spacious than any other I've slept in and was spotlessly clean. The staff were all attentive, pleasant & helpful, just really good at their jobs. I felt a valued guest all the time & never once felt awkward being on my own.

Room Tip: Just tell reservations what you'd like, that's what I did.

We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights with our family. Recently refurbished, literally yards from the sea with views from the lounge and bar out to sea, it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant the first night and it was lovely. We chose a local restaurant the second night of which there are several, all in walking distance. The staff and management couldn't be nicer, it was simply brilliant.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, it is totally worth the money.

We enjoyed our holiday based at the Caerwylan. The Hotel has recently been refurbished and rooms on the front have marvellous views of the bay and the local castle on the headland. Whilst there are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance, we had booked a table in the Hotel restaurant for our first night and were delighted we had done so. The hotel has a modern comfortable lounge overlooking the bay for pre-dinner drinks and we found the restaurant service friendly and efficient and the food excellent. Criccieth still has a traditional feel about it and is ideal for a family holiday, with a safe beach and rock pools to explore. There are also places such as Portmeirion, Caernarfon and Snowdonia within easy reach by car. We shall certainly look to stay here again next time we visit this area of Wales.

My wife and I spent a week in a lovely self catering cottage some miles inland. Each night we had an evening meal a a different place in or near Criccieth. This was the best!
The staff were delightful. The food was really well presented and it tasted wonderful. The chef deserves a medal. There was a wide choice of meals on the menu, and suggestions of wine to accompany each meal. The seafront position and views across the bay in the relaxing lounge area for pre-meal drinks and coffee after the meal made the evening a comfortable event rather than just a meal out.

We booked the Caerwylan without having visited before and were greatly impressed by the good service from when we booked by telephone (there was no requirement to pay a deposit which is a refreshing change these days) to when we left after three excellent night's stay.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the receptionist (Tracy) couldn't have been more helpful, we stayed in a superior room with marvellous views of the whole bay and the castle along with comfortable bed and table and chairs so we could sit and enjoy the views with our cups of tea!

The food in the restaurant was superb for a 3 star hotel, a far higher standard that we expected both at breakfast and dinner along with staff that were very friendly yet professional and efficient ..... we loved eating here!

All in all we so enjoyed a great few days here and, although we weren't planning to when we arrived ...... we will be returning!

Thanks to Fiona & Nick and all your great staff for making us so welcome and happy during our stay.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a superior room with a sea view ...... it's worth it!

Very tidy hotel, recently refurbished....lovely garden, weather was perfect...food in restaurant for dinner and breakfast very good. Room newly refurbed
I would go back....
There were some minor points that I would expect as our stay coincided with a lot of elderly I can see why they are not to concerned about having wifi in every room, this would have been beneficial to us.
Sound dampening in rooms or set tv volumes to low, surrounding rooms, OAP's getting up early and turning tvs on very loud...
Shower needs full enclosure in room 17, a bit of mopping up to do after a shower...
No newspapers provided freely small point but again this hotel is not cheap and I would expect free papers in the guest lounge.
Final one, purely aesthetic as non smokers, to mount the ashtray next to the front door looks and is disgusting , please move it...I didn't actually see any smokers outside the hotel, accommodate the majority....again minor point but it does spoil the entrance.

Have just returned home from a 4 night stay (single room - 34) and again could not have been treated better. Lovely room overlooking the Castle, first class breakfasts to keep you going until dinner and then the hard task of making a decision what to eat for dinner from a really good menu. Lovely beers to choose from as well.
I am a keen photographer and the scenery around the area is fabulous but the "icing on the cake" for me was a trip to Bodnant Gardens and I was able to photograph the Laburnum Arch and wow what some pictures!
Many thanks to Nick and all his team and I`ll certainly be back - hopefully later in the year.
