Description: Y Meirionnydd Townhouse is a great restaurant and bar in the centre of Dolgellau. What was the original old County jailhouse has been skilfully converted into a contemporary, stylish and yet cosy restaurant serving traditional British dishes with a Welsh twist using mostly local produce. The ground floor bar is a great place to unwind and relax with a drink or light meal. Booking is essential, please check for opening times. Please note we are unable to cater for children under 8 years old.

A superb restaurant offering an excellent menu at an affordable price. Service was perfect - welcoming and attentive without being overwhelming. Locally sourced produce cooked to perfection served in a very attractive, intimate setting. Wish we lived nearer so we could visit more regularly. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Dear NaomiC, thank you so much for your wonderful review. We were all thrilled to read it, you are a great Ambassador for Y Meirionnydd and we really appreciate it.
Someone suggested we should create a 'pop up' restaurant, a great idea but sadly not for us!
We really look forward to welcoming you back soon,
Marc, Nick and the team

Excellent food and service in a lovely building. It's in the centre of the town so parking may not be right out side. Book in advance as very popular even on a Monday night

We visited the area in early August and although we were able to book a table at short notice, the restaurant was full. Our meal was delicious, we chose from an imaginative menu with lots of choice featuring locally sourced ingredients. I had beetroot and ricotta tortellini, my husband ate Welsh lamb, and our son had fillet steak. Highly recommend the deserts my chocolate torte was amazing. Great service in a beautifully restored environment.

Dear ColinP, thank you so much for taking the time to write a five star review. We are not only pleased that you enjoyed our great service but that you especially enjoyed our fish. We have a great Fishmonger who supplies us with both local and other regional fishes, creating a Fish of the Week dish. We don't do too much with the fish, we allow the flavour of the particular fish to shine through and not too drown it in rich sauces or over-cooking.
We look forward to welcoming you both again soon,
Marc, Nick and the team

One of the best meals I have ever had in Wales. Definitely in my top five.. Great service and great food. If you are near Dolgellau, then make a date for a meal. Great selection of beers and wines too.

The staff made you feel very very welcome. Definitely one to revisit in the future.

Dear Stephen, Wow!...what a fantastic endorsement, we are all thrilled to read such a great review and that your dinner was so memorable.
We all work so hard to create the best restaurant we can and even though we are very busy we do try to make the evening personal - we're only sorry we couldn't accommodate you with a room as we were full!
Hopefully next time if you can plan ahead, we'd love to see you staying with us or at least dining with us.
Once again many thanks,
Marc, Nick and the team
