“Norma Never Fails ....”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

I first came across Dwy Olwyn over 14 years ago whilst visiting the town for the 1st time Mountain Biking at Coed Y Brenin after seeing the B&B sign by the side of the main road .
That time , and every other visit since i,ve always been made welcome by Norma and her hospitality is second to none !
My last visit was only a few days ago , only one night ready to walk the Mawddach Trail to Barmouth with a friend for my birthday ...
The house is spotless , the food is always excellent , and as for the View ....
It,s got to be one of the best mountain views ( Cadir Idris ) from any front bedroom window in Wales..
Access is easy , walking into town is a doddle , Car Parking - Plenty ...
You got Wi-Fi , Tv . but most of all it,s got a very warm homely feel to it ..
I,ve been there with groups of friends and also my father and everyone always enjoys the stay ...
I,ll Be Back i,m sure before too long ...
Very Highly Recommended .......

I stayed at this B&B on a winter break. The house was warm and clean. There is an impressive view of Cadair Idris from the window.
The bed was comfortable.
It is a walkable distance from Dolgellau. With nearby cycle routes and a cycle shop in town it is an ideal location for cycling.
Wet clothes were dried and the breakfasts were good. I was made to feel at home.

4 of us stayed in the B&B for 3 nights whilst on a mountain biking trip to the nearby Coed y Brenin. The B&B was very clean and catered well for mountain bikers. The breakfast provided us all with enough energy for the days activities! We had a warm welcome and the hostess had no problem washing our muddy clothes after a hard day on the trails. Highly recommended.

I wanted to take my daughter to see places in Wales that I used to go to. Dwy Olwyn was very well placed, in a quiet location on the outskirts of Dolgellau - easy to get to both coast and forests. The proprietors were friendly helpful and welcoming. We got a separate annexe that meant we had some kitchen facilities and good space and privacy. There was flexibility about arrangements and there was a nice easy relaxed approach. Recommended.

Room Tip: Annexe recommended

The wife and I (senior citizens and somewhat pickey) stayed at B&B's during the 3 wks we spent traveling thru the UK and Ireland. Accomodations at Dwy Olwyn, and Norma's hospitality, were some of the best. We had a great stay in a clean room with a fantastic view. The bathroom was small but very clean and had all the necessities. The location was quiet, convenient and only a short walk into town. And to top it off, breakfast was excellant. We would definately recommend that if you are in the area and looking for great place to stay, check out Dwy Olwyn.
