Lovely mountain with outstanding views on the approach and descent. Unfortunately once again, as we approached the summit, the mist came down. Still worth the effort but would recommend going on a week-day. Weekends tend to be busy

The paths are well defined, summit can get busy on the wrong day. If the cloud level is low navigation can be a problem, -make sure you have a map and compass and you know how to use them! Summit not that difficult with no scrambling required apart from the Foxes path which is not for those without experience.

Good climb but busy. Covered in cloud when we got to the top but still some good views albeit briefly.

Been up numerous times, proposed to my wife from the summit 5 years ago which makes it a special place for us. Spectacular views of Southern Snowdonia, Mid Wales and out to the Irish Sea. It is a mountain therefore respect, care and understanding of the terrain is needed. Well worth the effort and whatever the weather there’s a little climbers cabin near the summit to go and enjoy your sandwiches and hot drink before the trek down.

I completed the 6 mile walk in 6 hours with a group of Ramblers based in Shropshire.

Pros:
-The walk took us round the rim of Cwm Cau with numerous views of Llyn Cau below.
- The summit - Penygadair - provides fantastic views
-A stone shelter building just below Penygadair provides respite from the elements
-Toilets at Dôl Idris Car Park

Cons:
-£4 parking charge at Dôl Idris Car Park
