Spectacular and changing views along the river and estuary. Start in Dolgellau, and look forward to that meal in Abermaw (Barmouth).

“Amazing scenery”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

This walk is on a disused railway line so is flat all the way. It's suitable for bikes, pushchairs and wheelchairs. It is 10 miles long. Starting from Dolegallau to Barmouth. You can pick up a map from tourist information for 50p, though it is well signposted. Although you are walking on the old railway line, the estuary is never far from view and is a haven for wildlife. The tide was out when we were there. It is truly beautiful. Once in Barmouth after a much needed pub lunch - the first pub you come to, sorry forgotten the name! you can catch the bus back to Dolegallau. The bus stop is right outside the pub! Handy when your legs seize up!! But check at information in Dolegallau the bus number.

“Beautiful!”

A lovely walk in an area of great beauty, would recommend it to anyone, young or old. Would recommend visitors to the area bring a pair of binoculars to watch the wildlife.

“Best Bike Ride”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

Well worth the trip, going over the bridge was quite cool, when you get to Barmouth ride the length of the sea front, if you begin in Dolgellau park in the long stay car park next to the rugby ground its only £3.50 for the whole day.
