this was our third stay at Ffynnon - haven't been for four years and we weren't disappointed. Ffynnon is the standard by which we judge other places where we stay and few can live up to it.

We stayed in Emily - it's beautiful, the bathroom is decadent - try sipping champagne, reading a magazine and soaking in a bubble bath in the biggest bath ever! or in the evening tinkle on the grand piano whilst sipping a gin and tonic from the honesty bar.

We will return!

Room Tip: we have only stayed in Emily - its gorgeous

Spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at Ffynnon and had a great experience. The house is charming with modern touches. Our room, Sidney, was spacious and attractive with a refreshing rainfall showerhead. Breakfasts were very good, especially the croissants which were somehow better than ones we'd had in Paris a few days before. The staff was very friendly and helped us book restaurant reservations and provided loads of information about the area. Only quibbles: hairy drive up to the car park, and a small TV in the room. Recommended!

A beautiful Victorian building that combines modern and old with great style. We got a welcoming arrival, a fabulous room and bathroom - our little daughter took lots of photos of both! - and great breakfasts. The only problem is we didn't have enough time to enjoy all the things that the hotel offers to their visitors: the games, dvds, minibar, books...
The owners and people in charge were always ready to give a hand with a recommendation for sightseeing, booking a restaurant or doing a favour in general. They all made us feel at home.

Just back home after a delightful week staying at Ffynnon in Dolgellau. This is a charming and delightful boutique hotel where we were made to feel very much at home. The accommodation is of high quality and spotlessly clean (the staff must work their socks off!) throughout. Breakfast was excellent and offered a good choice for vegetarians, the owners and staff were extremely friendly and happy to accommodate any queries and requests, the only slight negative was the patchy wifi/internet access but that was a minor annoyance at best. Overall Fynnon was a joy to stay at and presents reasonable value for money, I'd happily stay again

Hi both,
We're glad you got back safely and enjoyed your week with us. We're sorry you had issues with the wi-fi and had we known we could have helped. However, due to guest feedback, we have now changed our wi-fi setup which makes it much more reliable and simpler to use.
Thanks for the review and we hope to see you again in the future.
Regards,
Steve

We stayed 4 nights at Ffynnon and shall briefly state the positives (which outweighed the minuses), the average things ( the thing) and the minuses.

Positives

1. Very good facilities for young travellers - a very good cot was provided and a changing mat. The staff were all very accommodating with our young child.

2. The room we stayed in (Emily) was lovely. The furnishings were bright, comfortable and pleasant.

3. The owners and the staff were welcoming. They gave some very good tips for restaurants to visits and things to do/

4. The lounge was spacious and well equipped with books game etc..

Neutral

Breakfast - on the whole this was good. There were though a few annoyances. Firstly, on almost everyday our poached eggs were badly overcooked. Secondly, it was a bit annoying that it took 15 to 20 minutes from ordering to have the pastries ready to serve. Thirdly and most importantly the juices for breakfast were of poor quality; all of these were made from concentrate and for the price of this hotel/ B and B I would have expected at least good quality selection of juices for breakfast.

Minuses

1. The internet - the system employed was truly awful. Firstly, they give you an account and password which every time you wish to use the internet you have to re-enter (think a system which is very similar in an airport). You cannot save your password so the system is frustrating. Furthermore, we found the internet to be frustratingly patchy - we were connected but at times it took over 15 minutes for the screen to come up which we could input the internet codes. Finally, although we never got close to exceeding the download limit of 500mb per day (you have to pay a considerable surcharge if you go over) - given the price of the Hotel/ B and B I would have expected a much healthier download limit.

2. For the area and the prices of competitors it was expensive and right at the top end of what could be fairly charged.

Conclusion

As we said in the start the positives definitely outweighed the minus and we would definitely consider staying again if we visited the area (though I would probably do some shopping around given the price is expensive for the area).

Room Tip: Emily - think good honeymoon suite. Hazel - think a family type suite. The extra room is very usef...

My partner and I have stayed in many hotels and B&B's around the UK. I don't write many reviews (I fact I think I have only written one!)

I've had to come on to write this well deserved review - as no other B&B we've stayed at has come close.

The entire place, from the warm and inviting entrance area and reception room to the amazing bedrooms reflect exactly what a boutique B&B should offer; warm hospitality, professionalism, classy yet contemporary and modern enough.

We stayed in the Annis room which was just wonderful - very spacious and an amazing bathroom.

Breakfast was fab - freshly cooked to order as should be, and a great selection too!

The small touches such as hot drink and homemade cake on arrival in lounge and REAL fresh milk in the kitchen were lovely.

Overall a great little place.

We stayed in the Hazel room that was more of a suite. Very friendly personal service from the proprietors. Nice range of breakfast options. Good location in the town. Beautifully decorated and furnished.
